10 years ago, on July 2, 2015, I somehow convinced @k_tidball to drive in rush hour traffic to Corona, CA to meet @kimmmmerz who had picked up “the last boy puppy” out of a box of his brothers and sisters. He weighed 4 pounds, and was covered in fleas. I named him Oliver. 🐶

I had no idea that tiny little boy would change my life forever. From day one, he’s been my shadow, my sidekick, my best friend, my baby. Through every milestone over the last 10 years, he’s been my constant companion.

Here’s to 10 years of unconditional love, endless (forced) cuddles, belly rubs, and a bond so strong I couldn’t have imagined it in my wildest dreams. I love you, Oliver Nimbus! 🐾♥️ taken in Corona, California by @kw00w

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the First Tee Network Summit as a new member of the Board of Directors for First Tee – Inland Empire.

After an amazing week in Phoenix with the FTIE staff and other First Tee chapters, I feel inspired, excited, and deeply grateful for the chance to help shape young lives through this incredible organization!

On Wednesday, we laid my beautiful Grandma Marianne to rest right next to her beloved husband of over 50 years (my Grandpa Bob). Grandma was just a week shy of her 92nd birthday when she left us on Friday, February 3rd.

My cousin Lauren said it best - my grandma wasn’t a normal grandma; she was a cool grandma. Feisty, sharp, quick-witted, fancy, fabulous, and fun! She had a way with words and how she pronounced them, which always cracked me up (“pan-deem-ic”). She loved anything lavender and leopard. Her sunglasses were larger than life, and she had as many pairs of shades as she had shoes (a lot). She referred to Aaron Rodgers as “her hero” (I still don’t really know why or how this started). She had so much love to give, which translated to lipstick stains on my cheek and saying “I love you” as often as we could. Despite having 6 kids, 16 grandkids and 23 great-grandkids, she still managed to call me every year on my birthday and even mail me a birthday card. Sometimes I would miss her call on purpose so that she’d leave a voicemail (so I could hear her voice anytime when played back the recording). She loved all her grandkids and great grandkids so much, and we all loved her more than words could ever convey.

Recently during one of Grandma’s hospital stays, she learned from my mom that a guy my parents unsuccessfully tried to set me up with had broken it off because “his parents didn’t like me”. Grandma, who could barely talk or move the left side of her body, insisted on needing a pen and a sheet of paper. She was going to write this man’s parents if it was the last thing she did! When my mom returned home from the hospital that night, she handed me the letter that Grandma so desperately tried to write. Her handwriting barely legible, but my mom was able to rewrite it for me in order to read what she had wrote. She told my mom to give this letter to me so that I could mail it to this man’s parents. Knowing we didn’t have much longer with Grandma here on earth, I opted to keep the letter for myself. It’s something that I will cherish and hold dear forever. 💜💜💜

RIP to our queen, until we meet again! I love you, Grandma!
