Did a solo shoot at the Lovejoy Monument in Alton.

It sits inside Alton City Cemetery, a place that’s been part of Alton’s haunted lore for years. The monument honors Elijah P. Lovejoy, an abolitionist newspaper editor who was killed by a pro-slavery mob in 1837 while defending his printing press.

His actual grave is nearby — not underneath the giant monument.

I think I’m going to start documenting more of the strange history around Alton.

I long for someone to love me fiercely until death, understanding that love is as powerful as death.
