Been working on this album for years and it comes out at midnight. Can’t believe it. ♥️ by @kwamieliv
Video @cathlife @cathleenbrandt / Foto @petra_kleis / Tekst @anneliseeskesen / Styling @vibedabelsteen/ Hår og makeup @ayoeness / Musik Into the Night af @kwamieliv / location @anddrape by @kwamieliv
God læselyst 💌 Foto @petra_kleis / Tekst @anneliseeskesen / Styling @vibedabelsteen/ Hår og makeup @ayoeness / location @anddrape by @kwamieliv
‘Someone to Love’ 🩵 One of the last songs written for my album ‘Yesterday tor Tomorrow’ - part of a continuous creative and human process of trying to grapple with how everything truly is happening at the same time - the most beautiful, the most brutal and everything across and in between - and how intense that is to understand, let alone try to hold. You spend all this time, you pour yourself into something completely, you dissapear into the act of immersion. You come out, changed, and then you have to figure out a way to release it. To let it go. Completely. It’s raining in Copenhagen today and I’m trying to find some balance between the everydayness of things and also just absorbing that this is the day. The most vulnerable day for me of the year so far. This strange buzzing feeling, like your heart is on display, like saying “I love you” first - that lingering space before the next sentence. I close my eyes and I am back, dressed in white and running on a purple sky beach towards the sea. The wind is blowing something fierce, and I have nothing and everything to lose. I needed and wanted to create something soft, somewhere gentle and patient. Somewhere loving that never looks away from how brutal and beautiful it all is. A complete moving and breathing body of work, that could grow wings and fly on its own. Thank you to everyone involved on all sides of my team and life, I appreciate you so much. ‘Yesterday for Tomorrow’ is out now - I hope it finds you well, wherever you are. ♥️ Song - Into the Night Lyrics- Kwamie Liv Composition- Kwamie Liv & VVK8-piano composition Production- Kwamie Liv & @nicokorner Mastering- @sixbitdeep Video- Creative direction- @kwamieliv @gerdafalk @sarahjuliecarlsen Director/Producer/Editor: @sarahjuliecarlsen Director of Photography/Coloring: @gerdafalk Runner: @amaryllis.h.m Stylist: @l0uiseb0rchers Stylist assistant: @polinafeddersen by @kwamieliv

Thank you so much for your messages, comments and for the warm reception of my new song. In many ways releasing music again after all these years feels like it did at the start, knee deep-heart first-straight over the cliff edge. I wrote ‘No one Owns the Sunrise’ at a time where one of my closest friends was far away and going through hell and back, there was nothing I could do but be an ear on the other end of the phone line. I wrote it, with my baby in my arms knowing that the best I could ever do was prepare them for this wild world, fill them with as much love as possible but that they, ultimately, like all of us have to walk the line alone, to learn our own lessons in our own time and way. I wrote it about the feeling I get watching my loved ones laughing. A celebration of joy and friendship and us being stronger when we lift eachother up. I wrote it for the times I feel disconnected from myself, for the times I look in the mirror and need reminding. I wrote the line No one Owns the Sunrise thinking about the completely free force that lives inside each one of us, worth nurturing, protecting, and fighting for, but also looking out at the the world. How price tags are placed on things that should belong to everyone, how people can get locked out of basic access and how holding onto yourself, your integrity and sense of truth is in many ways one of the most radical things we can do in this life. The beauty of songwriting to me has always been how fluid it is, how much in the beholder its meaning lies. These are fast times. I considered only posting a small clip of this recording made a couple nights ago with @jungleugle who I composed the song with. Insta says that reels over 3mins don’t get “reccomended to new audiences”… Not gonna lie, sometimes I feel like an alien in these algorithm times… but then I thought maybe some of you are like me and like to have headphones on & music in your pocket or playing while you go about your day, even a reel. So this is for you… Hope you enjoy this acoustic version of ‘No one Owns the Sunrise.’ Much Love, more music coming soon ♥️ K by @kwamieliv
