Here are some highlights from my year as an Emerging Professional Artist at the National Youth Choir! @nationalyouthchoir ❤️

I can’t believe my time as an EPA is nearly finished. I’m so grateful for everything this year has brought and excited for the album release and showcase ahead! by @kwanrtk_conductor

Wernigerode 💜 July 25 l I had a great time at the Conductor’s Seminar at Wernigerode, Germany, working with the lovely mentors and meeting many conductors/new friends from all over the world. I’ve also enjoyed watching the competitions and working with the Kammerchor Wernigerode (I’m grateful to have sung with them in the Opening Concert!) by @kwanrtk_conductor

Swaledale Festival 🌙🌞🌱🎶 | I’ve had the privilege to perform ‘Night and Day’ programme with my 2 amazing friends Stan and Nona at the Swaledale Festival @swaledalefestival in June. We performed a whole range of repertoire from Handel to the Beatles to Dowland to Cole Porter (and some experimental stuff too!) arranged for Voice, Trumpet, Tuba and Violin. We also ran 2 school assemblies for kids in the local schools.

I had such a great time making music while also enjoying the stunning Yorkshire Dales scenery! 🥰 by @kwanrtk_conductor

Grateful to participate in the Academy of Vocal Arts Conducting Masterclass in The Hague (March 2025) with Marc Korovitch, Silvère van Lieshout, and Daniëlle van Lieshout. Learning from great mentors, working with talented children’s choirs, and connecting with wonderful colleagues made this opportunity very rewarding! by @kwanrtk_conductor

St Martin-in-the-Fields 🧡 | I’m super grateful for the opportunity to work as an Associate Choral Leader alongside Olivia Tait last year, working with the choral scholars on their Wednesday Evensongs. by @kwanrtk_conductor

Covent Garden Chorus 💙🎶 | I know it’s a very late post but I have absolutely loved being an Associate Conductor with Covent Garden Chorus @coventgardenchorus, working alongside the amazing @torilongdon.

During my time, I got to lead rehearsals and conduct the Christmas concert, the Dixit Dominus concert, and the 5th year anniversary summer concert in London. I’ve also joined them on tour to Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales.

I do love the choir to bits: great music making, great people, great vibes and I honestly have learnt so much from Tori and the scheme. Very grateful and am missing the choir so much already! <3 by @kwanrtk_conductor

London Lawyers’ Choir 💜🎶 | I’ve had the privilege to work with London Lawyers’ Choir as their bursary conductor in March, directing their Song Sung True concert at St Paul’s Covent Garden!

I’m grateful to have been invited to return in 2026 to lead an a cappella project in March and to serve as chorus master for their Haydn Creation concert in June. by @kwanrtk_conductor

🌟 I’m super glad to announce that I’m currently a Fellow with the National Youth Choir as part of their Emerging Artist Programme 2025-26 🌟
@nationalyouthchoir @natyouthchoir_epa

So far, I have taken on leadership roles in regional outreach projects such as Sing! NE in Newcastle and performed in the Fellowship showcase in Feb. I’ve also join the AOTOS Day, observed their residential courses, and am excited to join the music staff in their Summer Courses.

I’m super grateful for this opportunity to gain valuable insight into music leadership and can’t wait to learn more from great musicians and this inspiring organization! by @kwanrtk_conductor

Guest Lecturer, The 3rd Collaborative Piano Camp, Bangkok, Thailand (August, 2024) 🎹🎶

What a pleasure to share my knowledge and work with young talented musicians!

Having given lectures on ‘The Basics of Singing for Pianists, Diction and Playing for Singers’, an ‘Opera masterclass’, and working on pieces with the participants in detail, I too have learnt immensely from the course! Thank you Aj. Jun Komatsu and team for this amazing opportunity :) by @kwanrtk_conductor

Guest Lecturer, Bangkok United Choir Camp, Bangkok, Thailand (August, 2024) 💙

I have enjoyed giving insights on vocal foundation, vocal health and singing technique. I led/coordinated sectional warm ups, gave a singing masterclass to 12 participants, and helped the choir improve their sound, the blending, intonation, and musical interpretation in their current pieces.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my knowledge as a guest lecturer, meet new faces and reunite with the dear old ones :) by @kwanrtk_conductor
