My name is Kevin Watkins (K-WAT) I’m a Builder of custom snare drums; a Lover of all things drums; and a Dabbler in vintage collectible drums.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Got a special order, 14” Lil Pic heading out today. 3.5 x 14” cast brass with machined re-rings. Despite its depth, this falls into the heavy weight class. I’m going to have a 13” in a couple of days. If you’re interested, hit me up because it will go fast. #gotosnares #lilpic #k-watdrumco.com by @kwatdrumco

Here’s a fun one. I had a special order to build a 7”, flat wall brass drum. Yes, I already offer the Killer Bee’d, but that drum has a center bead and is 8 lugs. I also have the Brawn Full Dress. But that’s 6.5 depth and is black nickel plated. My client also wanted triple flange hoops over die cast or single flange and he wanted a Dunnett throw system (glad I still have a few). This is the finished product and I have to say, this is something special for sure. A “go to”? No question. A “one off”? I don’t think so. Phatness? For days!!! Stay tuned for the series drum. I already know what I want to call it, too. #gotosnares #7FD #k-watdrumco.com by @kwatdrumco

Shout out to @upswingdrums who had these drums sounding great out front. He helped me unpack, move and setup all of this gear in 95 degree heat too. An absolute professional!

It’s an honor to welcome Scott Williamson to the K-WAT Drum Co. Artist roster!

Scott has been one of Nashville’s top session drummers since 1990, along with an impressive career as a mix engineer, producer, and arranger. But to me, he’s always been much more than that; he’s been a longtime friend. I still remember that young, red-headed kid sitting in front of my kick drum at shows. The Williamson family has always held a special place in my heart.

Scott was instrumental in bringing K-WAT into Nashville’s drum community and has been our OG ambassador since day one. Making it official just feels right.

Join me in welcoming Scott to the K-WAT family! #gotosnares #scottwilliamsonmusic #k-watdrumco.com by @kwatdrumco

Had a blast last night seeing my pal, Weston Blatz with Emily Ann Roberts. Weston and her band were killing and his K-WAT Beast snare drum sounded great! Thanks Weston! #gotosnares #westonjblatzdrums #k-watdrumco.com by @kwatdrumco

Working on tones in the studio. by @kwatdrumco

Just got in from finishing up some Killer Bee’ds. I have to say, and I never have said this before; this could be my favorite. I’ve been using it myself on the last two weekends of shows, and it just sits so nicely under the sticks and in the mix. Toe to toe, I’d put this drum up against any other. And I don’t ever say that, either. The K-WAT Killer Bee’d is a 7 x 14” brass shelled, 8 lugged, die cast hooped monster. It’s the K-WAT that K-WAT plays! They are available now and ready to ship. #gotosnares #killerbeed #k-watdrumco.com by @kwatdrumco
