On May 15, 2026, I will proudly walk across the stage as a graduate of Delaware State University with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. This chapter of my life has challenged me, shaped me, and helped me grow in many ways. From the late nights and early mornings to the unforgettable memories and lessons along the way, every moment was worth it. I’m deeply thankful for everyone who supported, encouraged, prayed for me, checked in on me, and believed in me throughout this journey. While earning my degree, staying active on campus, and completing student teaching, I also continued building my nail business and growing it into a successful brand with a loyal clientele. There were countless days where I went from class straight to appointments, balancing both my passion and my purpose without ever giving up on either. Being named Best Campus Nail Tech two years in a row was an accomplishment I’ll always be proud of and a reminder that consistency and hard work never go unnoticed. I’m grateful to say I’ve created a name for myself not only as a future educator, but also as a young entrepreneur. Every client, every appointment, every repost, and every word of encouragement helped push me closer to my goals, and for that, I’ll always be thankful. Forever and always a Hornet❤️💙 by @kylaakera

No legacy to follow, so I created my own🪞 Forever grateful to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for the love, lessons, and lifelong bonds that shaped my journey. Every step brought growth, and every sister helped me bloom into the woman I am today.🩷💚 To A.A.O, my girLS, I couldn’t imagine joining this sorority without y’all by my side. Every moment, memory, laugh, and challenge was made special because we experienced it together. I’m forever thankful for the bond we share and so blessed to call y’all my sisters. Since the age of six, I’ve been telling everyone I was going to become a teacher, and now I’m finally here. 🍎🎓 This journey was never just about earning a degree. It was about the students who reminded me daily why this calling matters. Every smile, question, and ‘aha moment’ reminded me why I chose education. These students didn’t just learn in the classroom, they helped shape the educator I am becoming. It takes a big heart to help shape little minds. Teaching is more than a profession. It’s passion, patience, purpose, and the belief that the work we do today can change a child’s tomorrow. And we are more than educators. We are mentors, role models, encouragers, and sometimes the very people who help students believe in themselves. In September, I will begin the career I’ve dreamed of. Ready to pour into the next generation, inspire young minds, and make a difference where it matters most, the classroom.
