a few views from my very casual May book club meeting 🥰✨

i had the pleasure of hosting my book girlies for an evening of cocktails, conversation and a coursed dinner 🤭 as we discussed HUNTED by @darcybooks.

a time…was HAD. mmmkay?! 🥳

joining a book club has been SUCH a blessing to me. i went from reading zero books per year… to barreling through more books than i cant count. bonus: making new friends and having the opportunity to deepen connection with some of my sweet line sisters in the process. 💕

ATTN: We officially have a THREENAGER!!!

Emmy is officially jumping out of her crib AND her high chair (so yes… toddler bed loading), telling us what she will and will not do (including sitting in timeout) 😩 and tries to run our house like she pays bills. 😭

She’s also a true girl’s girl—obsessed with painted nails, “makeup,” perfume, body creams, jewelry, pretty dresses and the color PINK. 💗💅🏾✨

She is very affectionate, empathetic, has mastered “please, thank you, and im sorry”. She gives the meanest side-eye, can run a full mile and prefers “mommy’s bed” over her own.

We are completely and deeply obsessed with her, and so grateful to God for the gift that is Emerson Rose Phillips.

36 is already feeling soft around the edges. 🥰💕

My line sister besties planned the most beautiful birthday brunch for me — a reflection of my heart in every tiny detail. They sent the invite, managed the guest list, led the table design, had custom details created…and were endlessly patient when I had “new ideas,” not realizing what they already had in motion. 🥂✨

And just when I thought the day couldn’t get sweeter — the girls surprised me with a visit from my mommy. 🤍
The softest touch.

Every moment was intentional, and filled with love. I’m usually the planner, the host, the connector…the one making sure everyone else feels special. And I rarely get to be in those moments because I’m caring for everyone else. But they made sure all I had to do was get pretty and show up for 36. I am so grateful for their love and friendship. 💕💚

And maybe that’s my lesson of this season — that there’s beauty in receiving, in resting, in letting people show up for you.

Peace sometimes comes when you stop trying to control everything. When you surrender. When you finally let yourself rest. 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾

Huge thank you to @presleysdetroit for being so flexible and kind — the food, service, and space were perfect for what turned into such a beautiful celebration. They even let me come in beforehand to craft a custom cocktail to match my dress. 🤭✨

Here’s to 36 — to gentler days, louder laughter, deeper roots, and blooming exactly where God plants me. 🌸

I wish I could fit every moment, every hug and laugh here — but just know love filled every seat in the room, and then some. 🤍
