Five years ago, an app, workouts, and a love for Energize brought me into a group of women I never knew would become such a big part of my life.

Eventually, we all left that business. Some friendships faded, and life looked a whole lot different than it did when we first met. But these four? They never stopped showing up. They continued to pour into me, speak life over me, pray for me, and remind me what true friendship looks like. And I’ll never stop being thankful for that. 🤍

Because the thing about real friendship is that it doesn’t care about time zones, miles, or how long it’s been since you last talked. We can be scattered across the country, go days without a phone call, and still pick right back up like no time has passed. These four will always be some of my first calls, my biggest cheerleaders, and the women I know will cover me in prayer and remind me of truth when I need it most.

Five years later, so much has changed, but the sisterhood has stayed. And honestly, I think that’s a pretty special thing.

They say you become like the people you surround yourself with, so I hope when people see me, they see a little bit of each of these women:

My heart is so full after this weekend with these four. Thankful for the laughs, the conversations, the prayers, and the kind of friendships that remind you just how good God is to give you your people.

At the end of last volleyball season I decided to hang up my coaching shoes after 6 seasons and some really incredible teams. I had pour my whole heart into the GCA middle school volleyball program, and made so many meaningful relationships with players, parents, and families. Coaching stretched me and grew me into such a different person on and off the court. I so sad after praying it over and knowing it was time to set it down. I truly couldn’t imagine not coaching and not walking through the gym and hearing my current or form players yell my name.

Fast forward to a few months ago when my little sister found out I wasn’t coaching and I seed planting from my mom she asked if I would coach her special Olympics team 🥹 and well how to you say no to that? So, after years of being her biggest cheerleader & a sibling to an athlete in special Olympics Kimmi convinced me to coach her team not just sit on the bleachers.

I wasn’t sure how this fall would go, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little sad all summer when I drove past my old gym. But today all of that was worth it when I got the “are you going to be a practice” text from my best girl. And the smile she had in her face when she almost got her over hand serve over for the first time. So year 7 may look different, but dang how blessed am I to have the honor of being these athletes coach. 🤍
