There’s something pretty incredible about watching powerhouse actors take the words on the page and turn them into something you never could have anticipated.

Filmmakers Kyle and Carlos Plummer talk about the experience of directing Mike Farrell and Doug Jones in their feature film The Strawberry—and the joy of watching two seasoned actors bring so much depth, instinct, and unexpected life to their roles.

For Doug Jones in particular, an actor so many of us know for his extraordinary work disappearing into creatures and characters, the Plummer Brothers got a front-row seat to all the subtle choices and beautiful acting underneath it all.

Sometimes one of the best parts of directing is simply watching a great actor take what you’ve given them and run with it.
Catch the full conversation with the Plummer Brothers on We’re Making a Movie.

Another Filmmaker Chat is officially on the books!

This week, we’re sitting down with The Plummer Brothers, Carlos and Kyle Plummer, to talk about co-directing their feature film The Strawberry, starring Mike Farrell and Doug Jones. And we’ve got about a million questions.

How did they take the project from script to screen? What does co-directing a feature actually look like? How did they build their team, navigate production, and bring their vision to life? What was the timeline, and are you ever really done with a movie!?
We can’t wait to dig into the entire filmmaking journey with Carlos and Kyle and learn what they discovered along the way. Another conversation for anyone out there thinking, “Okay, but how do I actually make a feature film?” by @kyle_plummer96
