Awhile back I was asked by @wolf_tooth_comp to be a part of their 🇺🇸 Clipless Pedal launch! An American made Clipless Pedal intrigued me just as much as getting paid to ride my bike, so of course I said YES. Clipless pedals are complicated, and have a lot of moving parts, so you don’t see companies trying to make these here. It’s a lot, I get it, but now @wolf_tooth_comp going down in my book as the 🐐 of pedals!!! I personally ride their platforms on most of my bikes, when they decided to make the Waveform in silver, it pretty much changed my life, because I had to buy so many new pedals for all my bikes. I also love a one sided MTB Pedal for road riding and they DID THAT!!! I used the ALT in the video, basically rode BMX on them the whole first part of the day, then took them up the mountain on a hardtail to see if I could shake them loose. I only unclipped once the whole day, I was doing a tabletop on a hip, and I came unclipped from pushing it just a tad too far, but clipped back in immediately upon landing. 😂 You can actually see it in the video!!!I’ve also worked for a lot of bike companies, and I can tell y’all that @wolf_tooth_comp truly was wonderful to work with. They hired me for me, they didn’t put me in a costume, they listened, they let me be me, and paid me the same day I invoiced. This makes me wanna support them even more. If y’all haven’t seen @greg.robby ‘s mini-doc on the @wolf_tooth_comp pedals, hit @youtube and watch it. He really made a beautiful film showcasing a beautiful thing, a 🇺🇸 made clipless pedal. Here’s a little highlights video of our day in Los Angeles together. Hopefully more from us sooner than later. P.S. Shoutout to @alonsotal and @endo_customs for making the Omac Jersey I’m wearing. I even pulled the @_you.bet_ water bottle off the shelves of @allezlabikeshop to give them a shoutout, you can see the price tag is still on it in the wheelie footage. Huge thank you to we_major_la for the crispy white socks for the video!!! Even had to ride the @wilde.bikes because Minnesota truly is a beautiful place. HAPPY BIRTHDAY @pedal2theshin !!! Today was a very special and very rippin freestyle #FRIDAYLLEZride, celebrating our beautiful Tio Rick!!!! Today’s freestyle started at the NELA @obetanddels and that always means we’re going to have a good time. The star of the show was definitely @brutal_dilan descending the Flat Top Death Drop on a road bike!!! 🤯 @killakareem with the doctors note got the clip on his new Triple Triangle. During these freestyle rides, we usually go to known spots to get clips. As you can see here, @ricosmodern_life hitting the perfect roller at the DIY spot. So many takers on the wallride in the ditch too, it was my dream!!! Our group kept getting smaller with the more hills we had to go up. We definitely made @pedal2theshin cry when we sang to him @collagecoffee. 😭 Had to get @brutal_dilan flick at the bottom of the Flat Top Death Drop on the road bike. ⚠️ RIDE TOMORROW ⚠️ @kylebkelley is back and it’s hot out, so we’re guessing he will not have a shirt on!!! So if you do not wanna see Kyle without a shirt, we’d suggest staying in bed!!! Meeting @obetanddels on Figueroa because @squidcirclepit wants someone else to make him coffee. We’ll be freestyling tomorrow, a little on road, and a little off road, so expect to get dusty! Bring a GravDad, Cyclocross Bike, rigid MTB, or whatever you like. Just did a week long mountain bike trip with the kidz in Indiana!!! The @sandmbicycles Mad Dog worked perfectly, even with my longest ride in Brown County being 10 Miles on all single-track. Thank you @brad4130 for making my dreams a reality turning my @sandmbicycles Pitch Fork into a Disc Fork!!! I finally got to ride Brown County’s new Pumptrack too! @browncountybikes is really putting in some work in Nashville, IN!!! So definitely stop in if y’all are out there riding, and do not forget the Brown County State Park Nature Center, absolutely beautiful!!! Once we were in Evansville to see my parents, we rode Scales Lake!!! I truly had my 🤯 here, so please do not sleep on this area. So much to do in the skills area, but the real winner here was the single-track loop around the lake!!! I’m sorry I didn’t take any photo or video from the loop, because I was just having too much fun. @lizbrowne and I have decided this is definitely going to be a yearly thing, it feels so good that Liz loves coming back to Indiana as much as I do. This trip reminded me so much of growing up in the woods on a BMX bike and I am so happy I’m starting Frieda and Grover down that path! Frieda was so amped on the little teeter-totter at scales, I can’t believe she was so down to try!!! 🙌🏻 by @kylebkelley

What’s the best way to get 4th in a bike race, aim for 🥇!!! 🤣 Or just ride really fast, take lots of video, and make your team wait for you. #sorrynotsorryI finally got to race a #citycycloLA yesterday, after years of putting them on with @dani_mariea !!! Luckily the next generation of grassroots bike racing is being lead by the one and only @hollyabarnhart !!! @hollyabarnhart and @shawn182 put together a plan to race from our old location to our new one, with @therealmikelly throwing a pizza party at the end!!! The race was about 900 feet of climbing over 6 miles, @elliott_shaw and I pre-gamed at the shop earlier in the day, and Elliott came back with a route that required us to walk a lot! 🤣 But it paid off, because we came in right behind someone who is actually fast, @andrewjackson_ and @nategrossman the hometown hero on Mt Washington! @aaron_your__tires got 1st 🥇 Place Single Speed and looked so good out there. I knew 4th place got a free pizza from @therealmikelly, so I turned on my #pizzastrava and just hoped for the best, and it all paid off!!! Huge shoutout to @hollyabarnhart @shawn182 and @therealmikelly for putting together this awesome first event at our new location. The new shop has officially been christened. 🤣 @lookcycle even left the @letourdefrance to witness this event here in the city of Angels! 🙌🏻 @100tacos donated 1,000 This Bike Climbed Mt. Washington stickers for the race too!!! 🙏🏻 by @kylebkelley

@milo_baker recently asked me to be a part of his latest journalistic expression through video, with his new piece The Commodification of Community. In this piece he ask a lot of people the hard questions, and I think everyone could benefit from viewing. Huge shoutout to @abby.cycles for proving my point midway through the video! 🙌🏻Milo talks to a lot of small businesses and clubs in the Los Angeles area that I personally love and respect, so it was great to hear what everyone had to say. Big ups to @southcentral.run, you had me in tears and 🤣 my ass of all at the same time, and that’s how we should be treating all of this!!! 🙌🏻 Dani from @grin.27 @satellite.la was in there. And y’all know I’ve told you to go on one of their rides before!!! No matter what though, if you ain’t helping the children, then you are not serving your community!!! Riding bikes is so much more than going fast and suffering. We constantly gotta remind people that the bike gives us that glorious feeling of being young again too. But sadly the one thing we do not talk about is how cool cycling makes us feel, especially when you reach that Zen like feeling where you look damn fly, but feel great on the bike! Very few people got it like that, so I’m going to start photographing some cats on the streets, who I think have reached that state of Zen. Y’all probably going to know alot of them.
