Dropped a new series on @thedrive YouTube this week. Big swing by me, @rassoolracing, and @nikromanoracing to take a topic as complex as a car’s handling at the limit and explain what’s really happening, and why. The engineering, your inputs, and the results.

First up is snap oversteer, which is talked about like a demon lurking in certain cars waiting to kick the rear end out in a turn when you least expect it and send you spinning. Can’t be avoided even by the best drivers. Or can it?

Nik is a professional performance driving coach, and as he shows in the premiere ep, snap oversteer as a concept needs a whole rethink. Cars just react to your inputs, and some are more sensitive than others. But if you really understand everything you’re telling a car to do in a fast curve—consciously or not—you can see the loss of grip coming, and avoid or correct it.

We made this because driving is the greatest thing and we want people to enjoy it to the fullest and not be afraid of things that are entirely in our control. Also, it was fun. Hope you think so too. Link in bio

There was one point where I was in the backseat of Jerel’s Macan on the track as we chased Nik in the S2000, watching the camera swing around the front as Nik did his maneuvers and Kevin manned the controls, and I thought, how did I get here? Tell me if you figure that one out. by @kylecheromcha

Trying not to think too hard about millions of people seeing my face this weekend as our latest YouTube video popped OFF. 2M views (closer to 5M counting an illegal TikTok rip), thousands of comments, and only some calling me Weird Al’s illegitimate love child.

Like anything in life there’s some amount of luck, but also months of hard work from me and @joeyrassool to lock in this format to take the kind of written storytelling we do on the site and serve it up to a new and wider audience.
