2025: longer caption than usual, but that’s life One for the books. It started with a yes. Yes to a new job, a new state, a new place, a long journey and whole lot of unknowns. Countless doors have opened for myself and Alison. Countless blessings and provision. A year ago we just landed in Phoenix after a 3 day drive from Washington with dogs and @marciajoyceadams that began with the norovirus on Christmas Day, which just so happened to be Caleb’s first birthday. I barely remember it. All our stuff and life was on a truck somewhere, hopefully heading to us. A week later I’d start a brand new role for me at @pingtour . The learning curve was high, just like transplanting us northerners into Phoenix. We’ve loved our life here. I love this family and the journey Alison and I have had since the very start over a decade ago. This time of the year has offered a lot of reflection and hope for the future. Amidst the chronic chaos of the world, I have these two. Much like the saguaro cactus, a constant visual reminder here in the desert, it has what it needs to thrive in a chaotic environment. It grows where it’s planted, it’s a faithful icon, and it only knows how to grow. This I hope and pray for myself, my family and all who read, in the coming 2026. by @kyledshields
