SURPRISE! my debut short @mancuredfilm is finally finished and hitting the festival circuit soon 💜

this project has gone through many iterations and tribulations, but i truly hold it near and dear to my heart. thank you to my wonderful cast and crew for their talent—you lent a hand when the film needed it most. and to everyone who supported us, thank you for your patience. i can’t wait for you all to see it!

rest in peace grandpa. you were a legend.

from the humble town of pequot lakes, minnesota. the homecoming king who put up 50 points in one basketball game, a stat that still hasn’t been beat.

bob bland, the iconic chef, with the ironic last name.

you were awarded chef of the year at the ACF. you curated the menu for pope john paul II on his tour of phoenix. you hosted julia child for a PBS special. you served as head chef for presidents, celebrities, athletes, and more importantly, my family and me.

you were always right there with me in arizona. and then in oregon, summers spent in oceanside, walks on the beach, jars of pickles and mac and cheese ready every weekend.

thank you for trips to the grand canyon; through california, colorado, and islands in the caribbean. thank you for letting me always be me. i’ll miss the jigsaw puzzles. i could always come over and see you at the green felt table, studying the pieces. we were the dream team.

you entered the hospital six months to the day that grandma passed. i know you’re with her now, on the year of your 60th anniversary. all my love. by @kyleheiner
