9/11, A disheartening day, a day that lives in infamy, a day that hits home a little harder for me.

09/11/2001, the worst terrorist attack on American soil, 2,977 lost their lives that day, many more perish today due to the aftermath of this attack. So many did not realize that would be their final day on earth, many first responders put on their gear that morning, expecting to return home later that afternoon. So many children waved goodbye to their parents walking into school, expecting to see mom and dad when they arrived back at home. So many did not realize their need for a savior until it was too late.

09/11/2016, 15 years after these terrible attacks, my life was turned upside down. My dad Michael Holton, a first responder himself, killed my mom, then himself. I didn’t know where to turn, I didn’t know what to do, my life will forever be marked by this day. Through this however, God has used it to set my eyes on Him, and has continued to use it to show me the need everyone has for a Savior. I wasn’t just in need for a Savior, but was in need of a Father, a home, and a love that never lets go

You see we all need a savior whether we believe it or not, our life on earth is a speck of dust. These terrible events prove that there is a fight between good and evil, a fight between sin and perfection, a fight between the enemy and our friend. A friend who created the world and all of its glory, but watched as His creation turned its back on Him, and separated themselves from Him. You see God did not create us to live separate lives from Him, but in our search to find something to fill a God sized hole we’ve continued to stray away from Him and His answers for our struggles. Psalm 34:18, Matthew 5:3, Matthew 5:4, God is here for those who are brokenhearted and are low in spirit. In fact, He loved us so much He came down to earth, experienced all the heartbreaking and hurting we experience, lived a perfect life. Then took on a death we all deserved and defeated death three days later, to pardon us and to forgive us. So call on His name today, our life is here today and gone tomorrow, we all need a savior. by @kyleholton_

Thankful for Chimes. Thankful for an incredible church. Thankful for an incredible leadership team. Thankful for an incredible staff. Thankful for Tuscaloosa. Thankful for the big C church. Thankful God put a story on my heart and on my lips. Eager to see what God does in Tuscaloosa this year, revival is coming. by @kyleholton_

Typical end of summer post. Not a typical summer by any means. Lost a lot, gained a lot, learned a lot. But through it all God has been so faithful! He’s been faithful to provide. He’s been faithful to love. He’s been faithful to make His name known.
