Humbling experience, but hard work pays off. Missed the sub-3 goal, and that’s okay. We walked away having learned a lot and making memories along the way. The kid in slide 14 would be proud - he’s your biggest fan FYI ! *well maybe second behind Annie… shh*

Thank you for the patience and support all prep. Even when my confidence, swagger, and drive faded - you were there. You rock !

Also SHOUT OUT @chadcope for the coaching along the way! You were beyond flexible with my crazy schedule, and never hesitated to talk when I needed it. The plan worked, and progress was made! REACH OUT IF YOU WANT A COACH - CHAD IS THE BEST

I am training for the Chicago Marathon while raising $2,500 for Movember—a cause close to my heart. Movember supports men’s mental and physical health, including prostate & testicular cancer. I’ve lost family, coaches, and friends to mental health struggles, and I want to help change that.

Since college, I’ve coached with Let Me Run, helping young boys build confidence and resilience through running. Now, I’m taking it further by working with Movember to raise money for their cause. Any and all donations are appreciated as I work towards this goal! There is a link in my bio! @movember @chimarathon

P.S. here are some selfies of me, my support group, and friends over the years !! Guess it’s muzzy szn 👨🏽

I love this first picture, it was taken moments after I crossed the finish line of my first marathon on Sunday. I feel as if it shows a look of pain and pride. Pain from the suffering that had just occurred over the past 4 hours of running, but at the same time a subtle smirk. A smirk of being proud of what I was able to endure throughout that same span of time and continue to push forward to finish the race. Lots of highs and lows throughout this process, but the highs outweigh any bump that was on the road. Some of the highs being:

1) going through this process with my cousin is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Being able to log our long runs together and experience a large achievement like this with him is amazing! @brandonecologne

2) having an amazing race day support group. Thank you to all family and friends, it’s so fun and energizing to see you at the mile markers to give off a boost of much needed energy. @joe_j @shelbm_c @tom_pluzycki @shannoncologne

3) having two best friends text me daily asking how it’s going and keeping me motivated and focused throughout. Seeing them race day at the finish line running up to me post race was one of the best feelings ever. @cameron_martino @catallonoah taken in Detroit Free Press Marathon by @kylejuza

Crazy and memorable past couple of weeks, and here are some pictures to capture the moments.

In a week I will be moving to Iowa to begin a new chapter in my life. As I look back at college and the memories my friends have brought me over the past four years, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Today as I left Grand Rapids, I was sad and honestly teared up a little. Weirdly enough I am very grateful to have felt that way. I realize that I am blessed to have been able to build such strong friendships and lasting memories, and that it should be hard to leave. With that, thank you to everyone who I have encountered over the years. Thank you for the memories and the lasting impact you have had on me. by @kylejuza
