🇯🇵🏆 KYOTO CINEMATICA 2026 🏆🇯🇵
C'est avec une immense émotion que je vous annonce que LES ERRANTS (THE Wanderers) vient d'être récompensé au Kyoto Cinematica au Japon.
Cette distinction me touche profondément.
Kyoto Cinematica est un festival qui accompagne mon parcours depuis plusieurs années. Il avait déjà récompensé À jamais avec les prix du Meilleur Film Muet et du Meilleur Film Expérimental, tout en m'offrant l'un des plus beaux retours critiques que j'aie jamais reçus.
Aujourd'hui, c'est Les Errants qui rejoint cette belle aventure.
Je suis également très heureux et fier que Vincent Vanhée soit distingué pour son interprétation. C'est une magnifique reconnaissance pour son travail, sa sensibilité et son engagement.
Le Japon occupe une place toute particulière dans mon cœur de cinéphile. Les œuvres d'Akira Kurosawa, Yasujirō Ozu, Kenji Mizoguchi, Mikio Naruse, Nagisa Oshima, Seijun Suzuki, Kiyoshi Kurosawa et de tant d'autres maîtres ont nourri mon imaginaire et ma manière d'aimer le cinéma.
Recevoir cette reconnaissance venant du Japon est donc une émotion immense.
Je remercie chaleureusement le directeur Ren Tsubasa, le jury et toute l'équipe de Kyoto Cinematica pour leur confiance renouvelée et leur regard si précieux sur mon travail.
Merci également à toute cette merveilleuse troupe qui fait vivre mes films : les comédiens, les techniciens, les femmes et les hommes de l'ombre, ainsi que mon épouse Isabelle Bouché Kari, dont les poèmes traversent chacun de mes univers comme un souffle.
Chaque film est une bouteille jetée à la mer.
Parfois, elle traverse les océans…
Et un jour, elle vient s'échouer sur une rive où quelqu'un l'ouvre avec son cœur.

🇯🇵 OFFICIAL SELECTION 🇯🇵
Je suis profondément heureux de vous annoncer que Les Errants (THE Wanderers) est Official Selection au Kyoto Cinematica.
Cette sélection a une saveur toute particulière.
Kyoto Cinematica n'est pas un festival comme les autres dans mon parcours. C'est un festival qui avait déjà distingué À jamais en lui décernant les prix du Meilleur Film Muet et du Meilleur Film Expérimental.
Mais au-delà de ces récompenses, je garde surtout en mémoire les mots qu'ils avaient écrits sur mon film. Un retour d'une rare sensibilité, qui m'avait profondément touché. J'y avais senti une véritable compréhension de mon univers artistique.
Aujourd'hui, voir Les Errants rejoindre à son tour leur sélection officielle est une immense joie.
Merci au directeur du festival, au jury et à toute l'équipe de Kyoto Cinematica pour leur confiance renouvelée.
Je remercie également tous les artistes qui m'accompagnent dans cette aventure : les comédiens professionnels et amateurs, les techniciens, les amis, tous ceux qui acceptent de faire partie de cette troupe venue d'horizons différents, ainsi que mon épouse Isabelle Bouché Kari, dont les poèmes traversent chacun de mes films comme un souffle.
Les Errants poursuit son voyage...
Et j'espère avoir bientôt le bonheur de partager avec Kyoto Cinematica Colère d'émeraude, dernier chapitre de cette trilogie qui m'habite depuis plusieurs années.

We are honored to announce that The Enchanted Voyage has been named a Finalist at Kyoto – Cinematica, January to March 2026 Edition, in Kyoto, Japan.
This recognition means so much because the festival described the film as “more than a story” — an experience filled with emotion, artistry, and innovation.
To have our work recognized internationally in Japan is a powerful reminder that storytelling can travel across borders, cultures, and hearts.

Grateful to receive our official Award Winner Certificate from Kyoto Cinematica for Nate Wall’s Best Actor (Lead) win in We Have Until August.

Alongside the certificate, the festival shared some really kind words about the film and Nate’s performance, describing the work as storytelling that captured the spirit of cinema and celebrating the creativity and passion behind the project. Moments like this mean a lot and are always a reminder of how far the film has travelled.

Nate brought so much care, honesty, and emotional depth to this role, and seeing that work continue to be recognised internationally is something we’re all really proud of.

Thank you to Ren Tsubasa and the Kyoto Cinematica team for the recognition and support. Very grateful to have We Have Until August continue finding a place in festivals around the world.
