Here are some of my favorite (unposted) dance moments of 2024! 🙈 I saw so much growth in my dance journey last year, and I’m so grateful! Thank you to all of the choreographers/teachers/mentors who poured their love, encouragement and support into me this past year. 🥹❤️To more training, growth and versatility in 2025! Let’s work!!✨ ~ And a super special thank you to @emilyisabelfigueroa , @khalilmcneil , and @garage713studio / @713crewasfff . The two of you, and being on this team have pushed me to new heights in dance. Y’all have fostered an environment where I can learn, grow, and make mistakes that I learn from as a dancer, while having support and encouragement along the way! Year 27, in full bloom!! 🌺 No stressing — just beauty, growth & blessings 🥹💖✝️ ~~~ On this birthday, I simply want to give thanks to God for everything he’s done for me, especially in year 26. I’ve nurtured relationships, met so many amazing new people, have gotten to continue checking accomplishments off the list for my career, and have grown even closer to Him than ever before ✝️❤️ I’ve been doing everything he’s calling me to do, from serving Him to chasing my dreams, and I couldn’t be more fulfilled! I can’t wait to see all the ways God continues to bless me, and will have me blossom and flourish in this next chapter. 🥹💐 I’m ready for the road ahead; let’s get it! 🥳💖 ~~~ Shoutout to @thercmstudios @officiallyrashad for the AMAZING photos! Why is it me you give all this love to? ❤️ ~ This piece is from when I had the honor of training @oneupdancecru a couple weeks ago. It had been so long since I created something and had the opportunity to share it with people in a space like this, so this felt very special to me. To everyone in the room that I was able to exchange with, all I can say is thank you for your energy, love, and light. And thank you to @kiinngg_x and @lilsha08 for welcoming me with open arms to share a bit of myself with your team. Much love always and I can’t wait to come back!!🥹💖 The moment I heard this song I felt so much emotion yet peace at the same time, and I knew I had to create something to it. With so much happening in the world and the dance community, my only prayer is that this brings a breath of fresh air to someone and lifts your spirits, as it did for me. ✝️❤️ ~ 🎵: Why (WhoJiggi Remix) X @sashakeable & @p90pope 🧠: Me🙋🏾‍♀️ @kyra_jb 💃🏽: Me🙋🏾‍♀️ @kyra_jb 📍: @soundboxtx ~ I do NOT own the rights to any music! #kyrajchoreo #dancer #sashakeable #houston #randb by @kyra_jb

A celebration of black heritage, black art, black voices, black creativity, black power, black pride, and all the beauty that lies in blackness.✊🏾🤎 ~~~ Black History Month is always a wonderful time for me to reflect on my black heritage, my roots, and how far my people have come. While the state of the world today shows us that we still have a long way to go, I can’t help but thank God for blessing me to be a part of such a resilient, beautiful, powerful and graceful group of people. As this month comes to a close, it is IMPERATIVE for us to remember that the celebration of us is not limited to one month out of the year, because we are black and beautiful 12 months/365 days of the year. The movement doesn’t stop, the celebration doesn’t stop, and WE can’t be stopped. ✊🏾 ~~~ As my career expands, I’m blessed with more and more opportunities to showcase my art in spaces that are FOR US, BY US, and this was one of those moments. 🤎 Thank you @stevenjscottjr for trusting me to put this piece together for ‘A Black Dandy Fashion Opera’ for the @houstonfreedmenstown first annual gala, in partnership with @tet_houston . And thank you @worldojec for capturing this moment!! ~~~ And thank you to the talented individuals in this piece for allowing me to share a little piece of my heart with you in celebration of us. You all are amazing, truly. And I adore each and every one of you!!! 🥹❤️ ~~~ Choreography: Me! @kyra_jb 💖 Event: @houstonfreedmenstown 1st annual gala - In partnership with @tet_houston Song: Stand Up X @cynthiaerivo - Performed by @itsbridgjette Dancers: @kyra_jb @mel__queen628 @christiandsimon @renmarie_ @jakoriwitak @1talbertwilliams @shonenj888 April Dawn (Please tag yourself 🥹) Kendall (Please tag yourself 🥹) ~~~ #blackhistorymonth❤️🖤💚 #blackhistory #freedmenstownhouston #standup #theensembletheatre by @kyra_jb

Take the Soul Train to Christmas 2025 at @tet_houston ! Wow, what an experience being a part of this production was; it was truly the highlight of 2025 for me! 🥹❤️ This show told the story of Ida and her friends, who take a magical trip through the history of how African Americans celebrated Christmas, as they are being guided by her Grandad. Upon first accepting the role of Ida, I had no idea how much my life would be changed in just three months, but I am forever grateful. From having the opportunity to have a lead role in my first main stage play at the Ensemble, being able to celebrate my blackness and the history of those who came before me, touching the lives of others, both young and old, and pulling on their heart strings or making them feel joy each night, to the connections I’ve made with my cast mates/friends and crew I met who have now become family, and having my God’s presence throughout the entirety of this process, words can’t express how blessed I am!✝️❤️ Through 35+ shows, hard work, grueling yet fun rehearsals, blood, sweat, injuries, illness and tears, this was probably the most demanding production I’ve ever been a part of, but I wouldn’t change anything about it. I feel like I’ve become stronger, have a newfound sense of purpose, have grown both professionally and as a person, and am so very pleased with the direction in which my career is going!! Performing has always had my heart, but Take the Soul Train to Christmas just created an even bigger space for theatre, than what was already there! So, to Ms. @theusserylife , thank you, thank you for trusting me to be a part of your vision and help make this story come to life; I am forever grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for the day I get to work with you again!!🥹 And to @tet_houston thank you for creating a space for black creators and black history to be celebrated and cherished, and thank you for bringing me into said space to grace the stage each night; I can’t wait till I’m back again! 😭✊🏾 by @kyra_jb
