Move over Cinderella, there’s a new princess in town. This princess is sassy, strong and relatable. This princess has magical powers that mostly manifest by making her hair grow. This princess can’t help comparing herself to her two talented sisters. And this princess kills monsters. 👑

This Friday we are beyond excited to be joined by the author, Ry Herman, to dig deeper into the book, play fairytale madlibs and make our very own magical potion- Lake Melilot. 🦢 (Goose not included.)
To make your own you will need true love’s first kiss. And:
-Blue Curaçao
-vodka
-pineapple juice
-guava juice

For a mocktail leave out the alcohol and add lemonade! 🍋

Feel free to add some mint for algae and any tiny geese you can find.🦆

👀 Te laisseras-tu tenter par ce roman? 😃💬

💖 Tout d'abord, le prologue a été un gros coup de coeur. Cette façon très exagérée dont le prince et la princesse se parlent, c'était vraiment drôle.

🗡J'ai adoré tous les petits clins d'oeil faits à plusieurs contes, placés par-ci par-là au travers du récit. Toujours sans les nommer, nous laissant deviner auxquels ils appartiennent. On peut avoir dans la même phrase un carrosse fait à partir d'une citrouille, une cape rouge et une allusion à la fée des dents! C'est incroyable!

🧚‍♂️Cette histoire est vraiiiiment originale! Que ce soit pour l'exagération des contes de notre enfance, pour l'histoire en tant que telle ou pour les nombreux personnages colorés, ce n'est pas du "déjà-vu"! Et quand il y a des "clichés", les personnages ont souvent une petite phrase qui fait écho à notre ressenti:
"Et ce fut, naturellement, le moment où les monstres attaquèrent."

🧝‍♀️ Gardez en tête qu'il s'agit d'une histoire complètement déjantée, loufoque et évidemment... impossible. Elle est à prendre à la légère, pour passer un bon moment qui nous sort de notre zone de confort. On y trouve tout de même du féminisme, des thèmes queer et... un lion misogyne. Les messages passent bien, dans la simplicité, ce qui est parfait pour un cozy.

🙈 J'y ai trouvé parfois quelques longueurs, mais pas trop non plus. Je dois avouer que je pensais qu'il s'agissait d'une Romantasy: mon erreur! Ils s'agit d'un Cozy Fantasy 😉 Je n'aime pas particulièrement les cozy en général, mais au moins dans celui-ci il y a beaucoup d'actions.

❤️ Mention spéciale "Coup de coeur" pour l'objet-livre! Il est tout simplement magnifique, de la page couverture au jaspage!

✨️Pour l'histoire, j'ai particulièrement aimé l'humour et les références aux contes de notre enfance.
