For 2.5 years, I called you home. I loved my time here. Unfortunately, you make the hard decisions in life. When some things have to end. Wherever we go, there we are. When we start over, we fail to realize we're bringing trauma and baggage into a new city. Sometimes, we're able to overcome the trauma. Sometimes, it's too big for us. And a new home just becomes a new environment with the same bullshit. We get older. We can't move past years of abuse done to us. We develop illnesses. Relationships shatter. We have to ask for help, when we never thought we would. Sometimes, the light at the tunnel makes itself very obvious. Sometimes, it never does. As an adult, we're to make our own choices, but sometimes you find yourself making the same toxic choices that just add to the destruction of your life. It's always said you can't blame people in the past for things you do now. While I agree, the part of me that disagrees wonders how I'm supposed to just "get over" something so terrible, and just allow myself to freely live a new life. A life with no trauma. With no triggers. Sometimes, the damage is too deep. And the damage is permanent. There comes a time when you look at your life, and you ask what your legacy and purpose will be. What if you don't have an answer to either of that? Is that not a scary thought? Approaching middle age, and realizing the past has stopped you from fortifying a decent life for yourself? What happened to me as a person? A word of advice for those struggling: confront the triggers much earlier in life. So that you can move past, and actually have a chance at some semblance of a normal life. We all deserve it, in the end. If my words today can help at least one person, I take comfort in that.

To Pittsburgh, I brought my energy to you. You tried to do your job, and you did what you could. Unfortunately, it goes way past you.I will miss you.

Unfortunately, for some of us, it might be. We've done enough damage. We've hurt those who have hurt us. We've endured the trauma. The abuse. We can't let go. We can't embrace anew. For some of us, the end justifies all the means. People think they know you. They judge it as selfish. We all know what we must do to rectify the wrongs done to us all throughout life. Some will understand, many won't.

2.25 years from 40. Crazy. I've earned every ache,pain, illness and tear that's come my way. Am I where I thought I'd end up at this age? No. Not even close. But I'm excited to see it play out.
