Getting lost on El Espinazo del Diablo on my @harleydavidson
A nice little memory that will be with me forever. "No one can take away our memories yet." Something my grandmother used to say to me as a child. Coming from a woman who had everything taken from her; it means a whole lot.

We only have one life, sometimes one chance to expand, explore and experience. Why live in the "what if"

I hope I am passing on the good values to my boys on what life can be. I am happy.

As I come upon the anniversary of my oldest sons achievement of @ride1k.inaday
A feat most adults dont do let alone an 11 year old I genuinely feel proud. Here's to a lot less posting and alot more living.

Go read some books, drink some water, take the leap, get the tacos, do some pushups, take the pictures but not in the performative way...... for the memories. by @kzeliminator

Episode 460 with @kzeliminator

Since the early Days of performance baggers, Kris has been a familiar face, and in today’s episode, you’re going to hear about how he took his Road Glide around the track for a full year of the Bagger Racing League, then did a 180 and rode it to some of the most remote and sketchy places in the Americas. First to Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay and now through Mexico.

I was able to put a few miles on my newest acquisition recently.
It was a beautiful day.
It seemed like all the doors of opportunity were opened before me. Every little trail or gravel/dirt road I saw looked an adventure in the making.

I am very excited to see where this bike takes me.
The main motivation for this was taking my son on more adventures. I've already added a ton of little parts to protect my investment.

It was a hard decision on which platform to go with. The tenere t7 was just too tall and heavy. The transalp was more road oriented and needed too many upgrades out of the box. The crf300 rally was too small. The africa twin was too big.

This just fit right in the middle and the price could not be beat with the outstanding reviews.

I worry too much for someone who always figures it out. Every single time.

I came across these pictures today and I started to reminisce about how much fun I had doing something I had never done before or ever thought I would do.
I just jumped in head first. It escalated all the way to the point of pushing a bike to its limits that wasn't designed to do the things I was asking of it with parts that weren't designed for it. Whilst being apprehensive of my skills it takes to do it properly.
I have been riding motorcycles since 2006. 20 years! Where has the time gone? My son is going to be 13 this year. I guess by some standards I would be getting old. I dont feel old, I feel good.

I never thought motorcycles would have such an impact on my life. taken in Daytona International Speedway by @kzeliminator

I still love driving this car. Its embodiment of true visceral sport. I dont even have to be going fast. It just feels fast.
Ironically its the perfect dad car. Fun to drive. Looks great and fits the whole family and gear.
Numerous hockey practices or games with full gear in the trunk. I am so happy I decided to pull the trigger and buy it from @switchcars last year.
They made the purchase quick and easy. I've put over 10k miles on it since. They've been primarily trouble free. Which is saying alot on a 21 year old German car.

I haven't taken it out in what feels like a long time. The weather was phenomenal so I snapped some unplanned pictures on the road coming home.
Considering both my wife's cayenne and this one are base model vehicles and we can both experience what it was like to be rich 20 years ago without the typical porsche tax. I have zero complaints. I've always wanted one.
I am so grateful. by @kzeliminator

The number one question Im always asked is.
YOU WENT ALONE?

Yes, who would go with me?
I realized long ago that waiting for others to follow or come along. Id be waiting forever. Not because they dont want to go but because the commitment and work it takes to leave is harder than it seems to be.
Countless times and even to this day I still invite people to join me. Fully knowing I enjoy these trips more, solo.

It is quite surprising to hear the reasons why people back out. Most times they have good intentions. Typically its a financial or time issue. It's not that they dont have the money or time its merely a priority issue. I get it. Dreaming is fun but dealing with the reality of those dreams can be scary so we look for a way out.

Im not doing anything special or unobtainable. I am not special. These trips aren't really that special or epic. You should see who I look up to and the things they experience. The spectrum is vast in that realm. The reason I bring this up is I hear or am told wow that's crazy. To me it isn't and I do realize its all relative.

Im not doing anything that no one else can do.
I am humbled all the time.

I hope that if you watch or live vicariously through some of the things I share that you take the consideration to follow your own dreams and not let stupid little thoughts like "I cant" stop you.
I get those thoughts all the time. Im driven by my own fears. I worry about regret.

This is typically what people fear at the end of their life. "I wish I had more time, I wish I did the things."
Its a healthy conversation with your younger self about mortality.
I hope that writing this out helps in some way, either for myself or for others. taken in Espinazo del Diablo by @kzeliminator

As the calluses and burns on my hands heal up, I am reminded of how short lived my trips can be. They're almost like small different lives inside of the one I live on the daily.
While on them, the focus is on the road. Some get it, most dont. If you've done long trips you know what I am talking about.
The best analogy I can think of is when you're at an all inclusive resort and you have to decide do I go to the buffet or get chicken fingers from the poolside restaurant and not what time do I need to get the kids to practice or when I do have to be at work. Simplicity.
These small separate breaks from routine and reality of daily goals, stress and obligations are necessary. Don't get me wrong, head down, grind is also necessary but without a mental break things can add up.
If you have the opportunity to travel or take a break and you feel things creeping up. Take the time.  It can be healthy. Some small things can become big things, they turn into resentment and anger become regular emotions.  Pessimism becomes rampant.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to have these breaks. What a privilege it is. I do them for the love of the game.
The clout that is chased is not here. I over state this not only outloud but to myself because it is very easy to fall into that trap.
The likes, the views, the dopamine hits are addictive. I do not want to lose sight of what the main focus is and why am I doing this.
I wish I could do more trips(dont we all) but
As money and time allows I will be focused on family time(the most important) I do have plans for some smaller trips this year.
I have another trip planned with my son and I havent decided if im sharing that yet. I have somewhere around 20 hours of footage of mexico and it may never see the public much like the others.
I dont know what the reason is for documenting them other than I wish I took more pictures when I was younger. I may want to watch them one day. by @kzeliminator

Day 18
Knocked out 552 miles of interstate to be home before dark and traffic. It's always a catch 22. My road life is ending but my desire to be home always trumps it. My son kyle was soo happy to see me. It fills my heart with joy to see how happy my family is for me to be home. I missed them immensely.

Trip total was 7398 miles.
I needed
1set of brake pads.
1 engine oil change.
1 clutch
2 primary fluid changes
1 battery

Day 17
Word of the day is "WIND"
When I left roswell it was coming in from the east.  Kind of odd. Oh well I was on backroads to tucamcari.  Which means a whole lotta nothing. A vast open prarie type land til you get real close from the south. Little cliffs, then you are inundated with RT66 everything.
I stopped at a couple places then kept moving. Since I had no plan I didn't have a pace so just made small little goals through out the day. I stopped at midpoint rt66 and met Jason. He owns the store there. He struck up a conversation and in very little time he was showing me his workshop. He restores or replicates Shelby Cobras! Ironically he had one similar to a model one I had when I was a kid. I think I still have it somewhere. I kept going to Amarillo. I stopped at the bug ranch instead of cadillac ranch. Underwhelming.  I was hungry so I stopped for a Ribeye at The big Texan. Unfortunately it was better the last time I was here with my family.  I kept pushing miles regardless of the extremely strong wind which now shifted from the south. I was basically riding on an angle the entire time. Either pushed or sucked towards the semis. Super annoying.  I stopped at the Conoco tower. I thought that was neat. Thats when I noticed my midframe wind deflector got ripped off by the wind. Im telling you it was strong winds today. I called home and spoke to my youngest boy and he said he missed me. I kept going til I knocked 780 miles down for the day and decided 550 miles tomorrow. There was also a cool obelisk in Mt Vernon Missouri. taken in Mount Vernon, Missouri by @kzeliminator
