This year’s @KBShowhouse in New York—which encompasses 22 designers who transformed a plethora of spaces in the multilevel townhouse once home to famed American composer John Philip Sousa—embraces palette and pattern, with inspirations ranging from the whimsical designs of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí to Italy’s caffè culture.

Scenes from opening night.
Finally starting to catch up a little on life.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, lent something, made something, sacrificed their entire summer (@richardhaining @scott_daniel, @mirandaageenyc, @mm_forster, @timpbutcher), traveled great distances @grietjeschepers, answered an unhinged phone call (all of you), spoke to me 8 times a day (that’s you @theigracecompany), or simply checked in.
The room is beyond and it is all of ours.
All of the prop joints were mysteriously taken and to those people, let me know how that worked out. 😂
And @torreyllc cementing our friendship by insisting on sitting on the turtle for the group shot.
Lastly, if you took a picture with me that night, please send my way. I have nothing but these and know they are out there somewhere.
Above all else THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Last but certainly not least on our UK adventure, we made our way to the Western Highlands and Scottish countryside. The landscape completely blew us away, lush, dramatic, and surprisingly, a true rainforest.
We stopped in Loch Lomond and Luss, wandered through Inveraray on Loch Fyne, and explored the ruins of Kilchurn Castle. One of the biggest highlights was trekking across some very "well fertilized" fields to get an up close look at the famous Hairy Coos 🐂.
We closed out the trip with an outdoorsy retreat, where we went off roading and worked on our backhands, all surrounded by the most idyllic scenery imaginable.

Our third stop was Glasgow, Scotland, a city that’s been high on my must visit list for years. I’ve admired the work and philosophy of Charles Rennie and Margaret Mackintosh ever since studying them in college. Thankfully, the city and the Mackintosh Society take preservation seriously, and his groundbreaking tea room has even been fully restored in recent years.
Compared to our previous stop, Glasgow felt quieter, giving us the chance to soak it in more authentically. We toured the stunning University of Glasgow, maybe planting a little seed for Grey 😜.
To top it off, the latest Spiderman movie was wrapping up filming in the city, posing as NYC. Certain pockets of Glasgow truly feel like New York’s quieter blocks, which might explain why I felt so at home here.

Next stop on our UK adventure was Edinburgh, Scotland. The city's architecture is like being on a movie set, and is nicknamed The Athens of the North for a reason. The Fringe Festival brought with it some impressive street performers as well as impressive crowds. We caught an amazing football match at Tynecastle (go Hearts!) that we will never forget. The Scots are without a doubt among the most charismatic and charming people we’ve met, and we felt welcomed with open arms.
