Morgan Sully (US/DE) is a Berlin-based experimental musician descended from the great American portrait painter Thomas Sully, shaped by an itinerant life spanning the Pacific Ocean from Kalimantan/Borneo, Hawai’i and Southern California.

Morgan’s current practice moves between live electronics, curation, and the thoughtful resynthesis of his sonic heritage: cassette tapes of Sundanese degung and Malaysian pop are filtered through echoes of Autechre and Aphex Twin; footwork and jaipong mutations blessed by the Queen of Keroncong — Waldjinah — live alongside 90s rave mixtapes of desert techno, Chicago house and acid squelch.

Performing as Memeshift, his sets are dense, playful and feral: while The Wire called his debut album Echoes “a gently vaporous hulk of melancholia,” his live sets depart from his braided musical lineages, arriving somewhere between diasporic melayuncholia and archipelagic celebration. by @l___kw

@mermasuelo is a polyfaceted poet, researcher, performer, and sound artist dancing and playing between layers to attend, dismantle and transform oppressive looping.

Her live sets are in part repetition yet never the same... The sounds and media shift as they shift; according to how she is feeling, what she is into and in response to the context- moment. She focuses on improvisation through mixing techniques adding layers with words, objects, and/or instruments, based on storytelling.

Dear splendid souls in Berlin 🌶️
Save the date for our last event of the year 👉🏻 the annual #soyandsynth Closing 🌋 a yearly ritual where we share all the recordings from every set we created this year, alongside the release of our next #soyandzine 📖📚

This year we’re adding something new: a community holiday market + gathering, co-curated with our sister @l___kw 🤏🏼

Let’s come together for collective reflections of the year, celebrate the fact that we co-exist, and hold space for one another amidst this current polycrisis and winter depression 🥶

Today, Merma Suelo’s new album “siento” is now available on almost all platforms, sans Spotify and Amazon.

“siento” is a decomposed composition of experiences, experiments, sounds, research, feelings, and questions. It emerges from relational triggers and sensations, where one is constantly reshaping.

Among its intentions it wants to reclaim what has been binarised as belonging to the dead or decomposed, to blend these states, and to surface how, depending on the intention and timing of each event or process, they are oriented toward something we can’t yet see — but can feel, if we pay attention.

We are pleased to announce digital pre-orders are now available for Memeshift’s new album 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘕𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴 coming out October 1st.

It will be available for download on Bandcamp and streaming on many non-Spotify platforms.

Fresh after self-releasing 𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 (as Morgan Sully), this new album under Morgan’s @memeshift moniker marks a fresh foray into new material abstraction on L-KW.

Based on the writhing circuitry of the curious @landscape.fm Noon (a passive, unpowered analog synthesizer which equally suggests ‘drum’ sounds and drones) this album will have fans of John Wall’s [Computer]-[Piano] manipulations or the collapsing architecture of Autechre rejoicing.

Will be the release of my new album “siento”, supported and hosted by the most loving ones, @l___kw . We’re preparing something very cozy & magical, also with this space that means so much to us !

To celebrate this sharing with the world, so it mixes again and keeps becoming, I’d like to propose a sound weaving between friends who participated in “siento”’s creation — once again decomposing to compose together. 🦋
There will be a set divided in two, where @cavid.dhen and I will start and then @abigail__toll and I will merge parts of the album with her latest release, Idol. (!!)

And to close with more playful percussive movement, @kalozin__ is going to share their famous wii controller set — their last before going back to Brasil for a while!

Adding to this, legend Alf will do the sound and there will also be another little surprise with dear @p_mileu .

This piece also includes hums and echoes from Flo Wilson, Hanna Nichols, Kiki Miwa & Caspar Illschner, recorded in an encounter to play at Flo’s studio.
