The Clap!
No. 47
@l_j_white LJ at the @palomino_lounge_enmore, being charismatic and open and funny and just warm EFIN generous human being - clapping is what LJ does as she celebrates the people, the music, and the culture of a community she promotes. The clap takes and gives sound, blending into the landscape of a gesture: a poetic, para-methodological process, an awakening of the ghosts in the machine. Every bit of our culture is built on Indigenous land, but sometimes we clap to celebrate those who swim in that resistance with the frivolity of celebrating the resistance itself. Doing what you love to do is harder than it looks ~ LJ makes it look easy!

Imagine if I announced I was pregnant or engaged how many likes this would get....

We could just celebrate humans. Celebrate friends. Celebrate women. People doing cool shit. Living differently from society's expectations. Rebelling. Switching professions. Travelling. Running their own businesses with or without legend biz partners. Moving cities. Releasing music independently. Creating art. Or even tattoo'ing and pole dancing cause you're sick at both. 😉

People are fucking cool.

There is room for us all, no matter which path babes. taken in Somewhere In Newtown by @l_j_white

Reminiscing on the music video that @l_j_white and I made for #voyage by inspiring lights in my life @folamour and @amadouetmariam. Their lyrics, even more resonant now.

With aquatic graphics from @migumind and airborne moves by @l_j_white @typejazze @gabi_quinsacara @migumind @dechengendun @juan233246 @kndy.dvn3 and @hebenon_dj.

MV for VOYAGE on YouTube! See their beautiful faces today, #dance on the street tomorrow.

Bookings manager and connector Laura J White @l_j_white from Grow Up Bookings, and Freedom Sessions founder, on making networking feel human, not forced.

Everyone feels awkward.
So keep it simple.

Have a clear opener.
Have a clean exit.
And if it gets weird, make it funny.

Networking doesn’t need to be a performance.
It just needs to be real.

Filmed at the ARIA Producers BBQ.
Supported by ARIA, MPEG and Forbes Street Studios.
