Warum dem Mainstream folgen? Weniger Gäste, mehr Freiheit. Euer Tag, eure Vision. Lasst den Rest reden. Ihr werdet es feiern. ✨ @la.gioia.ascona @fiordalisaascona @hussenzauber @cherish_andco @fabiendeletraz by @la.gioia.ascona
You get to this one by private funicular. 🚡 La Gioia sits on the hillside at Ronco, two kilometres above Ascona, and the whole property only reveals itself as you descend — lake, mountains, and the Isole di Brissago sitting out in the water below you. It’s a jeweller-and-art hideaway on Lake Maggiore rather than a conventional hotel, run by jewellery designer Martina Mittelmann and art collector Andreas Hoffmann. For couples who want a rehearsal dinner or an intimate ceremony that nobody in their family has seen before, this is it. #glemstories#shooting#lagioia#gioielli#brandidentity by @la.gioia.ascona
You descend to it by elevator, cutting diagonally down the hillside through the trees. That detail matters. The approach is part of the design. When the doors opened and we walked into @la.gioia.ascona , the group went quiet. Not the polite quiet of people being well-behaved. The involuntary kind. The kind that happens when something is genuinely beautiful and you have not prepared yourself for it. A terrace over the lake. A table set with flowers and china that had been chosen with the same attention as everything else on the property. The sun setting on the other side of the water. We sat down to dinner and none of us were in a hurry to say anything. La Gioia Ascona is, formally, a jewellery house. Martina and Andreas have built something around a proposition that sounds simple and is actually quite profound: if you are choosing your engagement ring or your wedding bands, come and spend the weekend. Leave the city. Sit on the terrace. Let the decision belong to the place where it is being made. There are three rooms. Privacy is not an amenity here, it is the entire point. The jewellery consultations happen outside, surrounded by the lake and the garden and the particular silence of a hillside in Ticino. It is also a space for intimate celebrations. A small wedding. A private dinner. Something that does not need scale to carry weight. We left understanding why people come here and do not want to leave. Thank you to Martina and Andreas for the hospitality, to Maya and Flo for every detail of this trip, and to every partner and colleague who made this journey worth making.
