Coach: @la.lifting
Meet: USAPL Raw Nationals
Athlete: @wellzizswole
.
Aside from a near miss on our third squat, this meet went about as good as we could have asked for Julia. This day went to a tune of 165kg on squat, 87.5kg (+2.5) on the bench press, and 167.5kg (+2.5) on the deadlift!
.
Training got a little interesting during preparation for this meet. With multiple week long trips to Japan and Montana, “optimal” gym performance had to be sacrificed at times, which is why as coaches it is important to find and allow opportunities and flexibility for our athletes to continue to flourish during adversity. However, regardless of the trips, we were able to really strike gold with our deadlift programming and at one point during this preparation, we were able to double her previous MPR!
.
Along with this, we were able to find a bench press scheme that really worked for Julia which included a primary session on Monday in contrast to the typically programmed Saturday primary. On meet week, we employed a strategy that entailed having Julia pressing heavy *twice* the week of her competition that led to one of Julia’s strongest bench presses to date at 87.5kg.
.
We were able to end the day with a 6th place finish in a very competitive Junior 75kg class! Very proud of Julia, the sky is the limit for the young star from Maine!

Meet: USAPL Raw Nationals

The OG stepped onto the national platform for the first time, which was honestly emotional. Started with Alex ~2.5-3 years ago when he was just a 14 year old kid, fast forward to today and he is a completely new lifter both in and out of the gym, and I could not be more proud of him. In his first national competition, he squatted 172.5kg (+7.5), benched 107.5kg, and deadlifted 197.5kg (+5) which pulled him into medal position.
.
During this prep, squat was *on*. One block out Alex hit 167.5 which was already a massive PR on its own, but it really set us up with momentum going into this final block into nationals. Really happy with how squat showed up for him on the day, hitting a 7.5kg ATPR on the national platform is not an easy feat to accomplish, and I admire his ability to rise to the occasion.
.
During deadlifts, we recognized that he had a unique opportunity to pull himself into medal positioning. Going into third attempts, we had to pull 197.5kg to be 2.5kg over 5th place’s total who had us on bodyweight… however, 5kg was an ATPR and we have not pulled anywhere near our previous best in quite some time due to a foot injury Alex had while skiing, and this also required the lifter in 5th to miss his 3rd attempt (which he did). Alex managed to pull the 197.5 with relative ease and pulled himself into position to gain his first national medal!

Meet: USAPL Raw Nationals
Athlete: @leeanndelcourt

The national champion herself had quite the day. And yes, we trained into this one. Leeann hit a 165kg squat, 72.5kg bench, and a MASSIVE 200kg deadlift to secure the gold medal at this year’s Raw Nationals!
.
Coming off of Maine States, we had a ton of momentum going for us on all three lifts. The bench press, in particular, was the one we had a lot of room to grow on due to being injured the greater half of two years before joining the team. Luckily, we were able to bench entirely pain free during this preparation and ended up being able to bench just 5kg from her ATPR, but 3kg lighter in bodyweight!
.
In conjunction, this was LeeAnn’s first meet with a DOTs score of 400, and along with winning her division, she earned her spot on the IDFPA Worlds team! What an incredible meet for LeeAnn, and I am very pleased with her commitment to being the strongest version of herself.

Meet #10, Nationals #4: The reflection.

This competition was a tough one. Mentally, I checked out after missing my 2nd and 3rd squat attempts on depth. With this, I was unfortunately leaving the meet with a 240kg squat. Simply put, didn’t lift to the standard the judges were looking for on the day which although is unfortunate, it is apart of the game.

Thank you @kamildzabiev for being there when I was ready to leave, the rest of the day likely doesn’t happen without you.

Thank you @agent21emh for being a phenomenal coach and friend, and thank you to @glasspowerlifting for handling the weight cut, these two are both the best in the game. Wish we were able to execute the way we planned, I will avenge you both in the next.

The amount of support I have during these preparations and meets are one of the sole reasons I am still doing this. You each know who you are, and I am forever grateful.

Shoutout to the team for balling out at this meet. @leeanndelcourt @wellzizswole and @dakinlifts all popped off and made me one proud coach/person.

Unfortunately for you mofos, I’ll be doing this for a longg time and this is by far the last time you’ll be seeing me. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @la.lifting

It’s officially meet week for the 2026 USAPL Maine State Championship, where athletes Kamila, Amanda, LeeAnn, Tyler, and Jason take the platform.
.
.
60kg athlete @kamila.lifts looks to avenge herself and put together her first “perfect meet.” The way her preparation has gone, there will be no doubt it’ll go her way.
.
70kg athlete @lady_mc_deadlifts takes on the morning session with a newfound confidence during her preparation. The bench *will* be PR’d.
.
90kg athlete @leeanndelcourt seeks to avenge herself after dealing with a major shoulder injury for the past few years. She will execute when it matters most.
.
82.5kg athlete @tyhanson08 is back from overseas… most of his prep coexisted with fighting for his country, he will make us all proud on the platform when he defies all odds.
.
110kg athlete @allair25 steps on to the platform as the “first generation” of the Allaire powerlifting name. There is only confidence that he will further prove the Allaire’s presence on the USAPL Maine scene. taken in The Point Community Center by @la.lifting

The Coach’s Perspective: Logan Allaire
.
.
The Maine State Championship, one of my favorite meets annually. As a coach, I do not think this meet could have gone any better as a collective.
.
In terms of statistics, we went 42/45 on attempts, which averages to 8.4/9 attempts made on average with a 93.3% success rate. Along with this, We averaged a +34.17kg and +24.67 DOTs PR as a collective.
.
In terms of acting as a team and coach, I will not be afraid to admit how proud I am of this one. Handling all 5 athletes (3 in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon) was the largest team I have sent to an individual team, and we showed out. Although the largest team I have brought to a meet, the attention to detail, warmup timing, and attempt selection did not slip in the slightest, which is something I have no tolerance for.
.
I am so proud of this team, and am eternally grateful for each one of you that I get the privilege to call my athletes. Let’s keep it rolling. taken in The Point Community Center by @la.lifting
