Our new song alert today is a special one! “Siu Tonga Walking Miracle” by BK18 is out now on YouTube.

It’s extra special for the LALINOA boys because we’re mentioned in the song. It tells the story of Siu Tonga’s road to recovery after an accidental fall. Her recovery and ability to walk again are a miracle.

14 years and so many selfies later 😆, and we’re still going strong, my Cookie Lee. ❤️

We’ve had our ups and downs. We celebrate the good times and work through the hard ones, but through it all, we still love each other like we’re in those early days—full of passion and the occasional argument 😆 mostly my fault! 😆 Those arguments have also helped us learn more about each other and grow together.

People talk about the secret to a long marriage. For me, there’s no secret: keep working at it when times are hard and celebrate each other when times are good.

P.S. To us men, “Happy wife, happy life!” 😆

All we’ve heard are questions about the Matatoa building, the land, and when it would open. Yet when answers are given, we struggle to accept them. Instead, we add our own opinions and twist those answers to fit the narrative we want to push.

Today, Their Majesties the King and Queen of Tonga opened the Matatoa building. I’d say today’s opening answers many of the questions put to Lord Fakafanua.

Let’s see whether the naysayers give credit or keep pushing their narrative. Criticism is part of holding our leaders accountable, but when something positive happens, we should also give credit where it’s due. by @la2bye

“Paging Dr Lala! Paging Dr Lala! You are needed in surgery NOW!” 😆👨🏽‍⚕️

Jokes aside, one of the privileges of this job is meeting people from all walks of life. This afternoon, I met Dr John van Dalen, a New Zealand orthopaedic surgeon who has been supporting Vaiola Hospital since 2018.

This photo was taken after our tour and interview, just before he and his team returned to theatre to operate on a young patient. I met the boy and his dad, who recognised me, and we shared a little chat before his son went into surgery.

Together with Dr Tevita Tu’ungafasi and our local team, Dr van Dalen and his specialists are performing historic joint replacement surgeries on 10 patients, giving them the chance to regain mobility and independence.

Next year, they hope to help 25 patients, and they need our support to make that happen. Your donation can help give our people, especially those confined to wheelchairs or beds, the opportunity to walk again.
