“Ask for more, the universe is not on a budget.” Morning rides are my favourite rides - when the world’s a little sleepy and a little slow and you just get to pedal and yap. Even better when there’s time for a warm, cozy coffee at the end. ☕️ by @la_kersh

The Sunshine Coast (mostly) lived up to its name; CGP delivered beautiful & levelupable trails full of Kersh sound effects, as always; and the weekend was cherry-topped with delicious food, hilarious stories, and good humans. #ThankYouThankYou #LoveLoveLove #ThrowItBack by @la_kersh
At this age, I’ve probably spent at least a Malcolm Gladwellian amount of time in the woods. Science & survival kid camps. Backcountry family canoe camping trips. Field work with mom to core trees and count rings. Finding park limits and joining bird counts in an off-road truck with dad. Hours and hours of xc running and ski training. The list goes on and on and on. I have memories of trail work as a kid - my dad and other ski parents using big crowbars to move bigger rocks, helping with bucking downed trees and moving debris off trails, using a hand scythe to cut underbrush and digging trenches to give water a place to go so we could get on rock skis faster after the first few snowfalls. I guess it’s no surprise that last weekend I looked outside at the sideways rain and said, yeah sure, I’d love to put on rain gear (that may or may not keep me dry all day), toss some snacks (that I won’t eat because my hands are caked with mud through my work gloves) in a backpack along with a random assortment of layers (because tossing duff and rocks around can get the blood moving something fierce) so that I could toodle some tools uphill with awesome humans to spend time mucking about in the woods. It’s impressive what a small crew of people who know what they’re doing can get done in a few hours of work. It’s very cool to see a new line take shape as human backhoes tear up the first few layers of the forest floor to find the gold hidden underneath. And it’s incredibly fun to attempt to keep up - feeling a direct connection with your body as you swing a pickaxe, shovel duff, and shuttle buckets of rocks & dirt. Huge thanks to everyone who let me shadow and put up with my questions & shenanigans. p.s. support your local trail association & recognize the work they’re doing. You may not know the full extent of time, love, expertise, and energy people are putting in to make sure the places you have the privilege to play in are running smoothly and fun-ly. Don’t just thank them as you tiptoe through their trail days – pick up a shovel, open your wallet, or if you can, both. #FeralInTheForest #TrailWork #AlwaysTwoPairsOfGloves #IsItStillForestBathingIfYoureCoveredInDirt? by @la_kersh

If you squinted, you might’ve seen me at CGP Saturday for the Shore Siren’s inaugural Coastal Collective gathering. 🤠✨ In reality, I was wishing I were taller to get the Furtado onto trailers without dropping it on my head, flexing the ol’ abs of fortitude on the shuttle up, running a steady self commentary & sound effects the whole way down some flowy jumpy downy trails, and channelling Flo by trying to sneak mini rockers in while being a background actor. All in all a super fun event that allowed a bunch of people to get together to ride park without having to deal with the chaos, long lines, and bro vibes that sometimes happen when riding bigger ones. Plus some delicioso food was had at the après. 🤩 Thanks to the humans of @shore.sirens for putting it together and to @redsarahb for being a trip enabler and ride guide. 😘 First and last 📸 by the extremely talented Meg @tandem.photography #SunshineCoasting #CGP #Bananaflage #NoMonsterTruckingThisTime #SmoothIsFast #RunningCommentaryLikeAToddler #LoadFromTheLeft by @la_kersh
Got back in the gym to lift heavy things last year/this spring with a rad gang of gals and it was so very nice. 💪🏻🥰 I know a lot of people bemoan going to the gym but I actually kinda really enjoy it. Especially when it’s lifting heavy things and running and jumping and pushing and just generally being an excited little weirdo around fitness equipment/body weight exercises that push my limits. Guess that’s leftover from xc training and racing. Thanks for making me lift heavier and jump higher than I thought I could @hailikm / the pinch hitter trainer boys of @level10fitnessinc. Monday nights are gonna feel so empty til the fall. #InQuadsWeTrust #LoveLoveLove #StillNotSureICanRDL #GymLife by @la_kersh
Happy bday CC! 🎉😘 Glad the islands gifted you orcas, crows, and all the weather for your bday getaway. #TallHandsomeManfriend by @la_kersh
Golden Ears sleepover. 🏕️✨ Upped the off-road route planning into the valley this year with the help of @asplitdecision and had such a nice night having all the giggles with a good friend gang. Left the photos of humans to the better photogs. 😜 #GoldenEars #SpringCamping #StillChilly #HumpTheStem #RideInRideOut #HorseTrailsFTW #WhoWouldntMakeACarrotJellyDoughnut by @la_kersh
Inside, outside, upside down. 🙃 This spring has been all about comfort zones and the boxes they create, habits, balancing acts, and trying to actively tell the little gremlin voice in my head to please just shut the fvck up. Bring on the longer days. #Sprung #TheIsleOfNorthVan #WordOnTheStreet #HardtailHardcores by @la_kersh
Every year when it snows in town, I always want to go out on my xc skis in the neighbourhood. This year, we finally diiiid it. Definitely lived up to the hype in my brain! 🤩 So many people out, so many people jazzed on sledding and sliding, dog walking, really just enjoying the snow. So wholesome, so much happy happy. 🥰✨ #TheIsleOfNorthVan #VancouverIsAwesome #BeautifulBC #SnowDay #XCLife #CatPoint by @la_kersh
