This is my real life Forza Horizon barn find.I’ve always had a thing for BMWs. But more specifically the weird ones. The forgotten ones. Wagons that make no sense on paper but feel perfect in real life. This E34 Touring is exactly that.It started life as a factory manual RHD 525ia. Nothing special. Just a regular family wagon. Then somewhere along the line someone decided to do it properly. Full M5 conversion. Not bits. Not badges. Everything. Engine ECU manual gearbox diff front and rear subframes. All M5. The heart of it is the S38. The same motor from the E34 M5 and the BMW M1. Hand built. Raw. Mechanical. Capable of way more speed than any wagon has a right to be.And it was sitting in a shed.This is the kind of car that reminds me why I fell in love with BMW in the first place. The engineering. The overkill. The fact someone looked at a wagon and said yeah this should exist.This video is the start of the journey. I’m going to document the whole thing here and on YouTube. The story. Tonight we open the doors at The Box for our biggest community event yet. Grid Night 3 is our third Friday night event in the last three weeks, and we’re doubling the capacity from last week for a C4 launch special. Catering by @royalstacksmoorabbin and soft drink, water and beers included in your ticket. The best thing about the last two is seeing a room full of strangers become mates after just a few hours, united by the love of cars. We’ve curated a wide display of cars, from a GT3 RS to Hondas, BMWs, Silvias and a few cars from the SD community. After this, we’ll be having a rest next week until the @zokuj open night on Friday, 7 August, which will be a completely different sort of event compared to our usual Grid Nights. Cars and coffee vol. 5 in the books.What an incredible morning. Yesterday was the very event Sam and I dreamt of running when we started our first CnC in January last year. Thank you to everyone who came. It was an amazing day. Not only a wild variety of cars for all tastes, but people. Families, older and younger people, men and women. It was simply amazing. Appreciate everyone who came to the @staydriven.co stand and said hi to support C4. The reception to the new drop was great and it made me so happy seeing people grab their new gear and throw it on straight away. Shoutout to my partners @michelin and @southernbm for bringing such a strong prescence to the event, @drivewithcam and the team for traffic management, Cofee for keeping people caffeinated, and to Erin for manning the SD stand all morning with no breaks. And special thanks to our very own Jess, Sam @focusd.on_creative and Ethan @miseru.tv for capturing the shots featured here, and to everyone else who came out and shared their content with us. Stay Driven: Rain, Hail or Shine More than four hours of driving. 50 strangers becoming mates over 300km of some of Victoria’s best coastal roads from Warragul to Wilsons Prom and Lang Lang. Our first-ever Grid Night is in the books, and we’re stoked. Last night we welcomed our SD community to The Box for the first public event since Sam and I got the keys to our new storage and events space about 7 weeks ago. To everyone who came down and made the room what it was, thank you. Watching a room full of strangers turn into mates over a few hours is the exact reason Sam and I built this place. Shoutout to the @zerooffset lads for bringing a few cars down too! For a while now, I’ve wanted Stay Driven to have a home. Not a pop-up, not a festival, just a real space run by people who actually love cars, for people who feel the same. That’s what The Box is becoming. Relaxed nights where I show you the latest press car, motorsport watch parties, drive day access and networking with the kind of people you actually want to be around. The space we always wished existed, finally sitting right here in Melbourne’s south-east.Here’s how you get in the room. Grid Nights are for people who wear the brand, and a clothing piece from SD is your way in free of charge. Tickets can be bought separately for each event, but for the SD community, it’s on us. We want the room to stay small, real and full of people who are genuinely invested in what we’re building. On top of entry, every upcoming C4 garment also gets you six months of complimentary Grid membership at The Drive Club, our membership at The Box.
