Things I learned the hard way, so you don't have to ‼️

1. Loving food doesn’t mean you’ll love working in a kitchen.

2. Your degree gets you in the door. Your skills determine how far you go.
.
3. Passion doesn’t pay your bills. Learn the business.
.
4. Your first salary might humble you more than your first failed recipe.
.
5. Being talented isn’t enough if nobody knows you exist. Network.
.
6. Long hours aren’t a badge of honour. Learn your worth.
.
7. Knowing how to cook is one skill. Knowing how to cost, manage and sell is another.
.
8. Your chef title isn’t your entire identity. You have options beyond the kitchen.
.
9. The people you learn from can shape your career more than the college you attend.
.
10. You don’t have to spend your entire career climbing someone else’s kitchen hierarchy to prove you’re a good chef. Build a career that works for YOU.
