I DID IT! 🏁🔥
My first solo HYROX NY. 🗽

Post-injury, after taking a big break from running, I still found a way to finish strong—even with my shins and feet cramping up mid-race. I came in chasing a time, but my body had other plans and reminded me to slow down, breathe, and keep moving forward.

This was hands down one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Honestly, not even a half marathon compares (in my opinion 😅).

Would I do it again? Hell yeah babyyyy

Now it’s time to recover, get stronger, and come back for that PR.

So grateful for my coaches @crossfitcollective , my friends, and family who pushed me every step of the way. And a special shoutout to my bestie @chyannaa_ for being the ultimate spectator and running all over the venue cheering me on. You are the real MVP! ❤️

No penalties. Finished strong. Earned the patch and my hot dog!

‼️January Athlete of the Month: Karina Quezada‼️

Karina has been with us since December and has been absolutely crushing it from day one in our HYROX program, walking through our doors ready to give her all every single session. Her consistency is contagious, she never misses a planned workout and brings great energy to every class. As a staple member of our HYROX program since the start, we can’t wait to see how far her dedication and hard work take her!

Get to know Karina:🙌

Hometown: Lancaster City

Passion life/ enjoy doing: Challenging myself through fitness. Spending quality time with my 12 yr old daughter—going on walks together, visiting bookstores, and attending anime events. I also love walking or running to local cafes for a cold strawberry matcha. I also enjoy family trips to our home in Mexico.

Inspired to start HYROX:
I wanted something that pushed my limits, combined strength and endurance. I’ve been following HYROX for a while now and I knew this was going to be for me.

Hobbies outside the gym:
Hot yoga, running, collecting stickers, spending time with family and friends, and finding small ways to honor my dad through how I live. Also…cleaning. Something about it is weirdly relaxing 😂

Favorite movements: sled push and pull, sandbag lunges.

Least favorite: push ups, mountain climbers and burpee broad jumps (we’re working on it 😅)

Something I learned:
Consistency and patience will always win.

Fun fact: I go to Costco for the samples and end it with the $1.50 hot dog combo. Every time. No regrets.

Still taking yesterday all in because this deserves a post.

So proud of us! We both took a chance on trying something new, nerves and all, and somehow turned those nerves into a 3rd place finish! 💪🏼

So thankful for my partner @clmkumher a beast and the perfect teammate. We pushed each other, encouraged each other, and got it done!

The vibes, the cheering, the support, the people… everything about yesterday was amazing. I love this community @crossfitcollective 💛🖤

Comp week is officially over, and it’s time to start a new week💪

3rd half marathon in the books and a new PR! 🥹🥇

Forever grateful for those who supported me and especially my girl @jeeeesssiccaa for riding it out with me through all those long runs. The anxiety, emotions, and buildup to this day are something I can’t even explain.

I wasn’t out there alone. I carried my dad’s presence with me every single mile. I know he’d be hella proud. ❤️

Another medal home, another memory made. The goal is to keep getting better, keep challenging myself, and enjoy every moment.
