We're excited to share the new series Building Scotland: Open Conversations for Action we produced alongside host @james.varga.79.

An initiative to open up honest, constructive conversations about the state of Scotland’s B2B tech ecosystem. It's clear, Scotland has the talent, the networks and the want to be at the top, but we all need to align in how we can get there.

The first batch of episodes featuring Label Sessions MD @nicksherrard, Andrew Williams, Robert Gelb + Colin Carmichael are live now to get the ball rolling.

Alongside the podcast, an open ideas and action tracker starting with ideas generated from these very conversations is live at buildingscotland.net. You can contribute to these by voting and commenting on each action on the tracker.

This week, we welcome Michal Ziso to the Label Sessions roster.

Michal is an Earth and Space Architect whose work lives at the intersection of creativity, systems design, and social impact. She’s known for turning abstract, future-facing challenges into tangible design strategies that are deeply inclusive and human-centred. Whether she’s advising the Canadian government on space policy or reimagining what sleep looks like in zero gravity, she brings clarity, imagination and structure to big questions.
Her working style is deeply interdisciplinary and global.

She works across architecture, innovation, and foresight, but her sweet spot is the early-stage ideation: when a team is stuck, needs a reset, or is ready to build something totally new.

She regularly collaborates with scientists, engineers, creatives, psychologists, and futurists. She has advised startups, multinational brands, government agencies, and cultural festivals. While she can lead major design work end-to-end, she often enters projects as a disruptor, provocateur, or visionary, pushing people to think differently, then helping them act on that ambition. Her approach blends radical creative thinking with pragmatic systems design.

Clients know her as the one who sees around corners, surfaces overlooked variables, and designs for futures that feel bold but believable.

This week, we welcome @sophie.hullinger to the Label Sessions roster.

Sophie is an animator, visual artist, and creative technologist whose work bridges the abstract and the accessible. Trained in fine art and stop motion, she now works across 2D, 3D, frame-by-frame, and collage-based animation.

Whether she’s translating high-level mathematical theory into poetic visuals or designing psychedelic concert assets from scratch, Sophie brings a unique blend of intuition, storytelling, and technical craft.

Her projects span Adult Swim, NASA, math awards, music festivals, and indie video games, all unified by a curiosity for translating complex ideas into work that resonates.
