THE BODY FACTORY 🖤

A night of bodies, sound, movement, fashion and transformation.

Presented by Labia Cinematica. The Body Factory is an interdisciplinary nightlife experience bringing together electronic music, fashion, textile art, dance, performance and immersive installation.

From Afro-diasporic club sounds to experimental soundscapes and Afro-tech, the night moves through different sonic worlds, designed to keep the body in motion.

What survives when people are displaced?

Rituals of Resistance brings together artists tracing memory, diaspora, identity, grief, pleasure, spirituality, and collective survival.

Between what is lost and what is carried, something remains—language held in the body, archives kept alive, tenderness passed between strangers, futures built from fragments.

Resistance is not only rupture. It is also the quiet act of continuing: remembering, creating, gathering.

We continue to gather.
We continue to make.
And in that making, we remain.

For national Canadian film day, we’re hosting a special screening of Subjects of Desire directed by Jennifer Holness. A documentary that explores Black women’s experiences, beauty, identity, and the politics of representation. Moving between personal stories and cultural analysis, the film invites us to reflect on how desire is shaped, who gets to be seen, and what it means to reclaim our image.

Join us on the 17th at the Black Healing Centre, Montreal, for an intimate screening, followed by a conversation where we can sit with these themes together.
