Third comp run in the books

Had a great time this past weekend with @lonestardrift. This was my third ever comp and even though I didn’t get the W, I’m happy with how I drove.

One major goal of mine going into this comp was to not get gapped at the start like all my past ones, and I think I did pretty well in that regard. I chose to wait on initiation so I could maintain more speed which helped tremendously, but my transitions were a bit off so I’ve got some room for improvement there.

For my lead run I aimed to hit the same line I had been running for most the day, which went well at first until I realized how slick my tires had gotten coming out of turn 1. I ended up choking up my chase there and made it difficult for him to keep proximity, but he was a good sport and complimented me on the run after.

Overall it was a fun weekend, but I did have to cut it short due to some vibrations coming out of my engine that started before comp. I decided to stop while I was ahead after completing day 1. I may not get another chance to drift at @speedsportzracingpark, but I had a damn good time driving there the two chances I got.

Time to fix the old girl to get her ready for next weekend at Texas Motor Speedway 🔧

Huge thanks to @brianhasacanon for sending these over!

This past weekend me and the old girl made it out to @txmotorspeedway for the season opener with @driftndrags.

The event was a lot of fun and I’ve never seen so many drivers out before. Huge shoutout the organizers for keeping things running smoothly, despite the chaos. Also thank you to everyone that stopped by the booth either for a ride or just to say hi, you guys and your energy made the night!

I wasn’t sure I’d be able to attend this event after losing my clutch at SpeedSportz the other weekend but thankfully I got a new one installed the night before. The car was driving great most of the night, but I did have issues of going into limp mode if I was on redline for too long. I’m guessing it’s related to the tune I did and that fact that I raised my limited by 1k. I’ll be digging into it this week, but if you got any ideas feel free to drop them in the comments.

Lastly, thank you to all the drivers who I caught tandems with. Those were some insane runs! Hoping to see you all again at the next round! by @labidyslides
