Playing today 😏. Mind the audio. Messing with B Instinct. Choosing an RP UK accent? Just recording rehearsals alone. Theatre v screen, accents, varying motives for the character. 10 years ago I crossed the Americas alone with savings and a backpack. It was a huge step into the unknown. It forever changed my view on my life. Very mentally unforgiving at times, dangerous even for a woman in ways. I crossed Canada and the U.S. and into Colombia over 6 months. Living off tuna cans and 15k savings. I hiked every single day. Pre social media, starlink, online businesses. I had no idea. I worked on properties, camped and hitchhiked, road tripped and made friends. I had one or two shitty situations. My heart is calling me back to say hello to folks - some will have moved - it ain’t going to be easy to find my home which I know now, will always be Australia TOO but is probably somewhere among the landscape styles that stole my heart. The person and the community will be the kicker, I’ve had many heartbreaks since this photo. Trying to find people and work communities where I am valued and thrive. Getting clear on the acting work I did, figuring out property/family and all the next stages. I will at very LEAST return for a long desert horse and motorbike ride to similar vibes. Looking forward to feeling at home again within that. Build on that tribe. Give me a vast empty land to tend to, and a thriving community and a deep love. It’s time. by @labouris

Great era living in the Wild West of Aus. Reminded me of my journey through the desert bowl of Canada. Believe that I might get trapped in Texas or Montana if I went, in a good way? I don’t mind isolation. One of the many worlds, having grown up partly on small plot of land that I really can relate to. But each place and community has its joys and challenges. Sydney is familial home. But creating my home is certain yet. Until then. by @labouris

Missing the gorgeous apartment I stayed in above the ‘Palazzo Pitti’ square in Firenze/Florence. What a spot. Being around so much painstaking creating. Nothing beautiful isn’t made out of some kind of focus - struggle. Learned so much about making great art that month. Creation over consumption. by @labouris

Connection. With all of you. I forget to take photos with people I like, and there’s been so many! I hardly think of shattering the moment with a random photo. But it’s a new habit from now. Because these present, unexpected, peaceful, joyful moments of connection…. New and old faces, and warmth are what it’s all about. Esp when coming and going from locations. It’s so easy to forget how many moments stand out over a period. Keep them coming. More time with people I’ve met and clicked with, less with the ghosts but then again, sometimes one day if the vibe is good is magic too. There’s always an opportunity to lift a moment and a day into a new level. Keep it humming love wherever the journey goes. by @labouris
