Where do I begin?

I am overjoyed, petrified, excited, nervous, and emotional to be sharing this song and this video I put my heart and soul into.

I wrote this song with my dear friend Keeley when we started to embark on my concept record “work”.

I was sad, angry, hurt, and feeling broken from carrying my trauma and also being triggered and treated poorly by the “big bad” in the music industry.

A person in power actually said the words to me “no one believes you” knowing as a survivor that would hurt me.

But that’s when something clicked for me. I don’t need someone to believe me or believe in me. I believe in me and I believe me.

I’m open to making friends with all my parts - even the unhealed parts that may never be the same.

I’m open to trying every day and I’m proud of myself for doing the “work”.

We shot this all in one take a few days after the LA fires. It’s not lost on me that we were going through that collective trauma together and I’m so thankful to everyone involved - I couldn’t have done it without you… (life and this video)

In honor of @nbcthevoice 30th season - here are some throwbacks to season 2 in 2011/2012!

Crazy to think this all happened after my major label debut and relentless years of touring and I was still only 23!!

It can be cringe to look back sometimes but I’m proud that I was always brave enough to try and that I still have that in me.

Ok… but I had to do a cover of this song duh! 😏 🙄

I have always been drawn to the word “Bitch”. As a woman in music I’ve been called that… a lot. I think it’s why I also named my company “Head Bitch Music”.

Being a bitch is a good thing. I feel powerful, complex, messy, beautiful, and all the things that come with being a woman in a crazy world that doesn’t always like to celebrate you. That being said, I’ve carved my own lane, created my own community, and stood in my belief in myself even when others couldn’t see my vision.

I love being a “bitch” and I wouldn’t want it any other way… just don’t try to save me. ;-)
