The busyness of this year has forced me to be intentional.

With every shoot, every photo, every moment. Even in my free time, I’ve had to choose not to let time simply pass me by. To take each moment head on. To fully embrace it. To live in it. To remember. To be present.

It’s made me so much more aware of the moments I get with the people I love. Friends I don’t often see. People who breathe life into every room and remind me what it feels like to be fully alive.

When you’re fully invested in this job, your clients no longer feel like just clients. Whether I’ve known them for ten years or I’m meeting them for the first time, the people I get to photograph are really, really special to me.

Addi and Dillon are some of my favorites. I’m biased, of course, because they are two of my best friends. I documented their wedding (one of my very first) and just a few weeks ago I got to capture their maternity photos.

As they prepare to bring life into this world and celebrate the beginning of their family, I’m reminded again of God’s kindness. He is steadfast. He is thoughtful. And He loves to make beautiful things.

Feeling grateful and a little speechless.
I’m headed out of town at the end of this week for a much-needed vacation, but I’ll be thinking about and reflecting on all of the moments I’ve been trusted to capture in the first half of this year.

Sun spilled reception x a garden getaway at the bride’s childhood home 🌸🌿🩷🌷

A + C wanted intimate and cozy, but very whimsy coded. So we went head-first with greenery climbing the walls, from the floor to the ceiling, classic flower vases with pink blooms, suede green couches for that cozy feel, and sleek white draping along the walls that just made it feel fresh. Our favorite part? The tables. Floral pink-and-green patterned linens, Monet inspired table numbers, cabbage shaped plates, and peonies everywhere. We’re suckers for a floral-shaped detail if you haven’t caught on by now.

A breath of fresh air in a reception form, if you will.

When Ava reached out to me, I knew her wedding would be special. But it wasn’t the vision, the location, or the color palette that sold it for me… it was her. I knew she had a photographer’s heart.

She understands what it takes to do this job. She trusted me with that responsibility and gave me full freedom. All she wanted was to be photographed with the people she loves. Candid, intimate, personal.

These photos are a reflection of Ava and Cooper and the people they love most. A culmination of presence, trust, and a day that unfolded exactly how it was meant to.

The skies cleared, the sun came through, and it felt like them. Warm, steady, undeniable. It’s in every frame.

Highlights from a day I wish I could relive over and over.

The tulips were blooming, the sun was shining, and Crosby and Casey couldn’t stop giggling together (or kissing, there are four photos in here to prove it - I’m obsessed with them).
