🚨 Bryson Fire – Animal Safety Update

LA County Animal Care & Control is closely monitoring the Bryson Fire. All hands are on deck.

If you are ordered to evacuate, take your pets with you. Residents with large animals and livestock should evacuate early to allow extra time for safe transport.

Agoura Animal Care Center is open to receive animals from residents affected by the fire who need assistance.

Meet Yelena-#a5805172 @baldwinparkanimalslaco @lacoanimals she’s a petite, 4 month old #germanshepherdpuppy who was found as a stray with another puppy who both had embedded collars that required our amazing medical team to intervene and treat. Yelena is understandably unsure of things but also is willing to be brave and venture out to make new friends. 🐾 Loki, Loki, what do we have here? 👀❤️
Two dogs, the same name and both looking for a forever home!

🐶 First up, Loki (A5794199)! This 7-year-old Husky loves going for walks, playing fetch and getting belly rubs. He knows sit and paw, has lived with children and enjoys getting outside to play! He would do best in a home with calm dogs.

🐶 And then there's Loki (A5789265)! This 6-year-old Pit Bull/Lab mix loves tennis balls, snuggles and spending time with people. He knows sit, stay, lay down and paw! He would do best in an adult-only home without cats, where he can enjoy plenty of playtime, snuggles and attention. ❤️

Same name, two different personalities and both hoping to find the right family. ❤️

LA County Library has partnered with Animal Care & Control to host pet adoptions in celebration of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! The event at the Carson Library will be held this Fri, Oct 16, from 2 pm - 5 pm. Attend the adoption clinic and if you read a book to any dog, you'll have your adoption fee waived, including spay/neuter and microchip. There's a license fee of $20 for all pets, but seniors pay only $7.50 and it is free for military (bring your ID!) Must be at least 18 years old and provide a current photo ID with proof of your current LA County address. 🚨 Red Flag Warning: Check Your Fences! 🐾

Strong winds can damage fencing and create opportunities for pets to escape. Before the winds pick up, take a few minutes to check your yard and make sure your pets are safe!

🐾 Check fences and gates for loose boards, gaps, or damage. 🔒 Make sure gates latch securely. 🐶 Keep pets supervised when outdoors, and bring them inside during high winds whenever possible. 🪪 Make sure your pets have up-to-date identification, just in case.
