Yesterday, I witnessed my youngest child accomplish one of his goals. 🥹❤️🏈

One of his goals was to get a TOUCHDOWN—and he did exactly that! 💪🏾🏈

The opportunity presented itself, and he EXECUTED.

But as his mom, I know my job is bigger than cheering from the sidelines.

My job is to teach my son how to SHOW UP, manage his emotions, advocate for himself, believe in himself, and understand his worth.

I don't stroke his ego. I don't tell him he's better than everyone else.

But I WILL remind him who he is.

I will remind him where he comes from, where he can go, and what he's capable of accomplishing.

And when the world tries to tell him otherwise, I want him to have enough confidence in himself to know:

"I KNOW WHO I AM."

That's the kind of young man I'm raising.

Yesterday, he got his touchdown. 🏈💪🏾

But the real victory for me is watching him learn to believe in himself and execute when his opportunity comes.

Mama is proud of you, Tman. ❤️

LET’S TALK ABOUT IT…

One woman killed her three children.

And another woman is now campaigning to destroy the life of a Black man because he chose not to let that woman walk free.

I’ve been watching the interviews surrounding the Lindsy Clancy case, and what really bothers me is hearing about what allegedly happened inside that jury room.

According to the juror’s account, the other 11 jurors tried to pressure the one Black juror into finding Lindsy Clancy not guilty.

Think about that.

A man stood on his decision and refused to simply go along with the crowd.

And now, instead of respecting that he exercised his right as a juror and followed his conscience, there are people trying to make him the villain.

Lord, have mercy.

This is bigger than one verdict for me.

It makes me think about how often Black people are expected to stay quiet, go along with the majority, and not challenge the room—even when something doesn’t sit right with us.

Sometimes standing alone is exactly what integrity looks like.

I don’t know every detail of what happened inside that jury room, and I wasn’t there.

But if what this juror is describing is true, we need to have a serious conversation about jury independence, racial pressure, and what happens when one person refuses to be bullied into a decision.

Because doing what you believe is right—even when 11 people are standing against you—takes courage.
