🎃 Oh, well. You'll join us someday...

One of our family's Halloween traditions is the yearly rewatch of Over The Garden Wall, and when I saw the new @lethalcosmetics palette inspired by the show I knew two things: 1) I simply had to acquire it, and 2) a show-inspired look would have to be done immediately.

Given the theme of this month's #eyeseenails collab, I couldn't resist leaning into the pumpkin vibes, so Enoch (the chilling giant pumpkin leader of Pottsfield) was my inspiration.

At long last, Halloween is here, and I’m celebrating with a truly pumpkin-tastic look! 🎃

Truthfully, I cannot get over black-and-clear watermarbles over special effect polishes, but I had a question: should I alternate my creme with clear polish, or with the same color as my base? So I tried both, FOR SCIENCE!

My base polish is Pick of the Patch from @apocalypsepolish, an orange-to-deep-brown thermal shade and easily the most Halloween-y polish in my stash. So, along with the watermarble, these nails also shift color with the temperature of my hands.

🖤 Thumb and pinky: black-and-clear watermarble
🧡 Index, middle, and ring: orange-and-black watermarble

My verdict? Team clear, one hundred percent. The lines are crisper and the base color stays so much less muddy, which surprised me. In the orange/black version, the colors blended together far more than I expected (which could be a perk with a rainbow palette). But, if you want your base color to really stand out, alternating black with clear is the move.

Have you tried watermarbling? Tell me which version you’d pick! 👇 by @lacqueredwallflower

[gifted pr] 👻 Looooook at that GLOW!

Y’all, you would not believe how much fun I had filming this set. I’ve been itching to do more watermarbling, so I tried an experiment: a spooky glow polish as the base, with a black and clear watermarble over the top. Perfect for Halloween, right?

Honestly, I felt pretty meh about these right after I finished them (I know, I know, I blame my chronic perfectionism brain poisoning), they just didn’t have the zing I was hoping for, ya know? But then I hit them with the UV flashlight, turned off the lights, and lost my freaking marbles. They looked SO. COOL. Chalk one up for seeing things through and pushing past the awkward middle, because they payoff was so worth it.

Shoutout to @prism.parade for Ghosted, truly the glowiest glow polish of the season.

[gifted pr] I wanted to take a closer look at a few of my favorite shades from @prism.parade’s new collection, Don’t Go Inside, starting with Hidden in the Stairwell. Described as a black jelly polish with purple-teal-blue color shifting flakies and holographic glitter, this is my top choice from the collection. I’ve also included a little comparison to Prism Parade’s PPU shade from earlier this year, Shadow Nymph, since they’re sort of in the same vein (but definitely not dupes!).

[gifted pr] And finally in my trifecta of favorites, I have Not Alone In Here. One of the two non-flakie shades in @prism.parade's Don’t Go Inside collection, it is described as a black based polish with purple shimmer, lavender glitter, and silver reflective glitter. I loved the shift from cool to warm purple, and those little flashes of silver are the perfect accent over the dark, moody base.

[Paid PR] For this month's HHC, Arcana Lacquer has two different shades that they’ve created: Absolution and Snowed In (which I’m showing here).

Created for the HHC holiday shop (because snow days are holidays too!), Snowed In is a sheer white to dark grey thermal with blue shimmers, silver sparkles, and white hex glitters.

[Paid PR] For this month's @hellahandmadecreations shop opening, @arcanalacquer has two different shades that they’ve created: Absolution (which I’m showing here) and Snowed In.

Absolution has an olive green base with micro holo flakes and bright blue to purple shimmer. A continuation of Arcana Lacquer’s 'Fantastical Flora and Fauna' series, this polish is inspired by the mutated fauna found in Area X of the Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer (specifically the book cover of Absolution as part of the 10th anniversary edition).
