Brine Exodus 2 Gloves

Released: 2007

This is a little different, as I typically only post heads and shafts, but I think the Exo 2s deserve some recognition. I’d also imagine a lot of you either had a pair or wanted one back in the day.

Obviously they were one of the flagship pieces of the Mikey Powell brand at Brine. They were the team gloves of several high level programs, and they were just cooler looking than anything else on the market at the time. They were competing with the STX G22 and K18 lines at the time - Warrior was popular and high quality but not nearly as comfortable as the other 3 gloves, not to mention the Brine King that the Exodus were bumping for a couple years.

It’s a shame Syracuse stitched from Brine to STX in 07 and never got custom orange Exos. They had the Exodus 1 for a bit of time but the Cuse Brine era was ending.

Duke made these very popular however in a number of colors, and they were a powerhouse at this time.

These things are hard to find in decent shape anymore, but @penny_strings has the largest collection of Exo 2s that I’ve come across. The last slide is just a few of the pairs he has. by @lacrossevault

Warrior Revo Ti (ft. Evo Ti)

Released: 2008

This head was the hardest one for me to actually get my hands on - seems the Revo Ti is all but nonexistent in the US and Canada at this point. Thanks to a good friend @bwitm1 at @thegoodstick.co, I am one of the lucky few that has one, and with tags still on it.

Brian purchased the head for me as a proxy from a guy in the Czech Republic. He was then able to pass it off to my good friend @89jayjpee who went over to play in the box tournament in Prague last week (late August-early Sept). JP smuggled it back into the states from there, and the rest is history.

From the Czech Republic to the US, with many changes of hands along the way. I want to give another big thank you to those guys who helped facilitate. Also, if you aren’t familiar with @thegoodstick.co go check them out. They do amazing things for the sport and make some awesome products in house. Hoping to get over there for a box tournament very soon and to check out the shop!

Warrior Krypto Pro Shaft

Released: 2004

The Warrior Krypto Pro lacrosse shaft, first released in 2004, quickly became a favorite among players for its exceptional combination of strength and lightweight performance. Constructed from high-grade Krypto Alloy, the shaft offers superior durability while maintaining a light feel, enhancing players’ agility and control on the field. Its precision-engineered design provides a perfect balance of grip and maneuverability, making it an ideal choice for both offensive and defensive players. The Krypto Pro’s enduring popularity is a testament to Warrior Lacrosse’s commitment to innovation and quality in lacrosse equipment.

This post is the first focused solely on a shaft, and I think it’s fitting that it be one of the most universally loved shafts of all time. First released in 2004, we still have Krypto Pros on the market today.

In collaboration with @penny_strings , @papabearreyda, and @teresa_giudice_official we pulled together the full collection from the catalog image shown in slide 2 (courtesy of Michael G). Skyler had most of these tucked away, while Stephen had the elusive ā€œBlack and Blueā€, and I have the Green Wire Fade (shown in one of the later slides on field).

There have been a number of iterations of the Krypto Pro, including the Diamond version, and they came in a number of colors not shown here, but the ones featured here are considered the most special and rare which is very cool!

Big thanks to Penny and Papa Bear for their contributions to this post, and go give them a follow if you like retro lax gear!

Warrior Titan Levitation

Tough one to find! The lightest of the Titan series, as well as the most fragile. These liked to dent up quite a bit. by @lacrossevault

LE Pink Gator Mac Daddy 98/200

Huge thanks to @brody_lax for adding a grail to the collection. I had a pair when they first released - @asclaxjoel had one pair at my local store, and I just had to have them. I ended up trading them years later and always regretted it. Happy to have another pair in the vault that won’t be leaving. by @lacrossevault

Nike Air Astro Grabber Low

Released: December 2006

The Astro Grabber and Destroyer (Low and 3/4) was a mid-2000s revival of Nike’s original 1974 Astrograbber, one of the brand’s earliest turf trainers designed by co-founder Bill Bowerman for football and baseball players using artificial surfaces. The 2006–2007 version updated that heritage with modern synthetic leather, a visible Air cushioning setup, and a sleeker, aerodynamic shape typical of Nike’s football footwear of the era. Though not a major mainstream release, it carried nostalgic significance as a nod to Nike’s first generation of performance turf shoes while bridging into the more advanced ā€œZoom Codeā€ and ā€œSuper Speedā€ cleat lines that followed soon after.

This shoe was hugely popular in the lacrosse world as lacrosse was often played on turf or Astro turf. The great thing about the non-destroyer version is that it was basically just a sneaker that you could play in, train in, or simply wear around. The 3/4 version even made a cameo in the viral Ultimate Lax Bro video.

Credit to @eastbay.archive for the old Eastbay catalog listing for these, as they are incredibly hard to find. The shoes themselves are very difficult to find in normal sizing and in non-Destroyer version. by @lacrossevault

Brine Swizzle Scandium

Released: 2006

The Brine Swizzle is a lightweight, performance-driven handle designed for players seeking a balance of strength, grip, and style. Known for its distinct textured grip pattern and sleek design, the Swizzle offers enhanced control without the need for additional tape. It is often made from durable alloy materials, making it suitable for players at various skill levels. The shaft is a popular choice among midfielders and attackmen for its reliable feel and responsiveness during gameplay.

The swizzle had a long run, I believe it ran until 2012? In my opinion, this is one of the coolest shafts ever made. Some people like the SwizzBeat more, but the Swizzle is just clean and classic. The texturing wasn’t being done by anybody else really at this time, and all the brine schools used them in the mid-late 2000’s. by @lacrossevault

DeBeer Renegade ft. @untraditionalstringing

Released: Early 2000’s(?)

The DeBeer Renegade was designed as a durable, all-purpose option that balanced stiffness and versatility for a wide range of players. Known for its wide face shape, it was especially popular among beginners and developing players because it offered an easier catching area and solid ground ball control. While not as specialized or advanced as DeBeer’s higher-end offensive or defensive heads, the Renegade earned a reputation as a reliable, entry-level head that could handle recreational and competitive play alike.

This one was strung by @untraditionalstringing - formerly Vero Beach - and the detail is incredible. by @lacrossevault

Brine Scandium Air

Released: 2011

The Brine Scandium Air (SC21 Air) was a lightweight offensive shaft that combined Brine’s durable scandium alloy with a unique ā€œAirā€ design featuring ventilation holes drilled through the handle to cut weight without sacrificing strength. It offered players a balance of high-end durability and quick handling, with a smooth, clean look and slightly concave edges for better grip. Designed for elite attackmen and midfielders, the Scandium Air stood out as one of Brine’s lightest yet toughest shafts of its time.

Toughest would prove to be incorrect, as it folded like a cheap lawn chair if you cross checked someone or took a good slap check on it. Still super fun and loved Brine’s innovation around this time. by @lacrossevault
