Today is my Diaversary! 🎉

Celebrating 42 years of living with diabetes.
I’m so grateful to be alive and thriving. When I was younger, I never imagined what 40+ years with diabetes would look like. I used to party hard and live like there was no tomorrow because I was honestly afraid I wouldn’t make it to my 40s.

But here I am,proof that we’re stronger than we know. 💪🏾

What a year! I’m not the same as the start of 2025. I am disciplined, I’ve worked hard on organization and keeping a home, I’m stronger than ever in my faith, I know my identity and the list can go on and on. It’s been a day of very high highs.
I had a bent cannula( tubing under the skin) and didn’t catch it until almost 4 hours later. By then, I felt sick, exhausted, and completely drained, however I still had to push through because I was cooking lunch for my family.

These are the parts of diabetes most people never see.
The hidden battles.
The moments when your body is fighting, but life still keeps moving.

And while I was managing my own chaos today, I kept thinking about the kids in Sub-Saharan Africa who face these same challenges,but without the security of knowing they’ll have the supplies, insulin, or support they need.

💙 This is why I’m raising funds for the Sonia Nabeta Foundation.

💙There are so many moments that people never see when you live with diabetes — the pre-bolusing so my numbers don’t spike, the friend sitting with me during pump changes because friends matter, and yes… the days I forget to attach my pump and have to laugh at myself 😅

These are the things that support me every day and help me navigate the highs, lows, and everything in between.
