After 11 years in the classroom, it’s time for me to start a new chapter. ❤️

To all of my students, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. You have made me laugh, challenged me, taught me lessons of my own, and reminded me every day why I chose this profession.

While I’m saying goodbye to the classroom, I’m not saying goodbye to serving and supporting students. I’m excited to begin my next journey as a School Counselor and continue making a difference in the lives of young people.

Thank you for the memories, the laughs, the growth, and the love over the years. I’ll carry those moments with me forever.

I first met you as your 8th grade ELA teacher at Allen. Years later, our paths crossed again when I became a teacher at EGHS. I didn’t know then why God would allow our paths to cross a second time, but now I do. For your entire senior year, we spent EVERY DAY together.

You were more than a student to me. You became a son.

Even after graduation, we’d text, FaceTime, check in during college breaks, and try to grab lunch whenever you came home from NCCU. Every conversation ended the same way: “I love you.”

Just THREE weeks ago, we had a heart-to-heart conversation via FaceTime. We talked about life, your future, and the plans you had ahead of you. I told you to slow down, be careful, and stay safe because there was so much life left for you to live. Neither of us knew that conversation would be one of our last 💔😢

You were one of the sweetest souls. Never a problem, never unkind, just genuinely good.

Rest peacefully, sweet boy. I love you, and I hope you knew just how proud I was of the young man you were becoming. You will always be loved, always be remembered, and always have a place in my heart. 💙
