This weekend’s class was amazing! Had such a great group of students, and they all did an amazing job! It’s always so much fun seeing everyone put their own little spin on their flowers.

Thank you to everyone who came out and spent the day creating with me. I had a wonderful time and I’m already looking forward to teaching another class very soon!

Can’t wait to see what we make next! 💗

MEET THE MAKER: Pottery by Friends

Meet Stephanie Lawshe, Alyssa Budoff, and Tori Powers—the trio behind Pottery by Friends!

“Pottery by Friends is a Fredericksburg-based ceramic collective formed by three friends—Stephanie Lawshe, Alyssa Budoff, and Tori Powers—who share a love of clay and a love of community. Each artist brings her own style and inspiration to the wheel, but they sell together because creating is more fun as a team.

Stephanie discovered pottery in 2021, after two decades exploring other creative mediums. Drawn to the grounding, meditative process of working with clay, she creates whimsical, nature-inspired pieces full of personality.

Alyssa began throwing in 2021. She approaches her work with a sense of humor, giving everyday objects a personality of their own—mugs with expressive faces, planters shaped like quirky little creatures. Alongside these playful pieces, she also creates vases and bowls that showcase her range with glaze and form.

Tori returned to pottery in 2022, after a high school class first sparked her interest. She creates vessels, bowls, and lamps marked by abstract, minimalist carving, often burnished or left unglazed to let the clay’s natural beauty—and, in her lamps, the light—shine through.

Together, Pottery by Friends invites you to explore three distinct voices shaped by the same material—and the joy of making it together.” ✨

Swipe through to see their whimsical, funny, and minimalist creations!

Don’t miss out on seeing these three friends and over 30 other incredible local ceramic artists at the Throwdown!

Come meet the makers, shop unique handcrafted pieces, and enjoy live pottery demonstrations.

Well hey! It’s been a while! I hope all of you a recovering from the holidays 😆...cause I know I am. But it was nice to find time in moments of chaos to create new art and try out some new things. Even figured out how to ink on a plant pot...now I need more ceramic pots 😏. #happynewyear #startingfresh
