Area IV came through with a conference full of good food, good energy, and even better memories. 🍔🍟

Colt Conference was a chance to laugh, learn, meet new people, and enjoy the time we had together. A huge shoutout to the Area IV officers for putting together such a great conference and giving it their all!

Area 4….y’all set the bar HIGH. 💙🌽

We laughed, made memories, and had an unforgettable time together. From the cheers and games to the moments that brought us closer as a family, Area 4 Leadership Camp was one I’ll never forget.

And as we celebrate the Fourth of July today, I’m reminded how grateful I am to serve an organization that stands for leadership, service, and patriotism. There’s no better way to carry the spirit of camp into Independence Day than by remembering the values we represent every time we put on the blue jacket.

Happy Fourth of July, Louisiana! 🇺🇸 Now the question is….can the next areas top Area 4? We’ll just have to wait and see. 👀💛

HEY, LOUISIANA FFA! 💙💛

Allow me to reintroduce myself! I’m Orlando Verrett, and I have the privilege of serving as your 2026–2027 Louisiana FFA State Reporter!

To help you get to know me…

I’m a student at Southern University majoring in Agricultural Business and a proud Franklin FFA alumni. Throughout my FFA journey, I’ve competed in Poultry Evaluation, Land Judging, Employment Skills, Extemporaneous Speaking, Turf Grass Management, and Swine Production. I’ve also had the privilege of serving in leadership roles that have challenged me to grow as both a leader and a person.

When I’m not wearing the blue jacket, you’ll probably find me in the gym, spending time with friends and family, or finding new ways to challenge myself.

One thing I’ve learned is that every member has a story worth telling. Whether it’s your first contest, your biggest accomplishment, or a challenge you’ve overcome, those moments are what make our association so special. As your State Reporter, my goal is to capture those stories and showcase the passion, dedication, and impact of Louisiana FFA members across our state.

I can’t wait to visit chapters, meet incredible people, and make memories with each of you throughout this year. Here’s to a year of leadership, growth, and celebrating the stories that make Louisiana FFA so special.

Louisiana FFA,

After 6 years, 3 jackets, and the fondest memories, I’m confident that I’ve served this association and its members as best as I can. I’ve visited so many of our states’ chapters, embraced agricultural advocacy, and I’m ready for the next step in my life. This past convention was even better than I could’ve asked for! I got to work hard and speak truly in front of over 1,500 of my biggest supporters! I’m thankful for the endless friendships, opportunities, and connections this organization has brought me because those will stay with me long after this. Most of all, I’m thrilled to watch what this association will become and I’m grateful to have been apart of it. Love y’all!

Two things I wasn’t expecting to hear at South Lafourche’s Banquet!

When I was invited to their banquet, nothing could’ve prepared me for the relentless support of their community and their members. From Queen’s Court royalty to hilariously heart-warming retiring addresses, there was no better way to spend my evening. Today is National Ag Teacher Appreciation Day! A much needed time to thank the Ag teachers and Advisors in our lives who continue to be our biggest cheerleaders, coaches, and advocates! Today I’m thanking my High school advisors Mr. Doug, Mrs. Landry, and Ms. Toups; my middle school advisor Mrs. Kim; and our Louisiana Executive Secretary Ms. Summer! Today is FFA Alumni’s Day where we appreciate those who once wore the corduroy! Mrs. Ashley was a member of the Central Lafourche FFA Chapter and has kept close ties to FFA as a supporter. Her constant dedication to the Lockport and Central Lafourche FFA chapters is admirable, and she makes it a point to be a supportive presence wherever she is needed! As a parent she watches her children grow through LAFFA just as she did.
