An excerpt from my vows:

Jaime,
When I think about what it was like falling in love with you I see it like a movie in my mind. A fairytale I never would have believed was mine.

Two 21 year old kids running around under the city lights of Madrid, with an open bottle of wine in their hands. I remember trying not to get too attached because I thought for sure it was a “just for now” kind of thing… maybe a fun story I would tell my kids one day, about the time mommy fell in love with a mysteriously handsome man from a foreign land and then never saw him again.

Well… as fate would have it… standing here today I have a feeling that’s gonna be one of our kids favorite stories someday.

It was exactly a decade ago, in May of 2016, just as I was graduating from university, that I made what I believe was the most important decision of my life… and an unpopular one with a lot of the people who love me.

I decided to decline my corporate job offer and instead of moving to Chicago I packed my life into two suitcases and moved to Spain. To follow my heart and chase the love that we were building.

Today, standing here in May of 2026, in front of all of our favorite people, I’m making the next most important decision of my life… to promise to be your loyal and loving wife for as long as we both shall live.

Some of you may know this part of the story but when I first saw a photo of Jaime on social media, before ever meeting him in person, I sent it to one of my friends along with 3 simple words. GOD. IS. REAL. (It was a really good picture okay?)

Since then there’s been many moments together where I’m reminded that God is real.

On our Saturday beach walks when the turquoise ocean kisses the sand, or when we watch a golden sunset over the palm trees from our balcony, or when we’re driving in the car and catch a glimpse of Storm in the backseat with his head out the window, eyes closed, becoming one with the breeze…

God is real. And every night when I lay down to sleep and say my prayers for all that I’m grateful for, once again I’m reminded, with you by side, that God is real.
