Summer at the Elevated Neighborhood Italian Restaurant 🫒🍝🌿

I visited @ulivodc — which opened earlier this year on the border of Columbia Heights and Park View— to try their summer dishes, and I was impressed with everything I had! 🍝🥂🌿

Golden light danced across the dining room as the sun set, creating a cozy and moody atmosphere for dinner. ✨

🍊 Classic Negroni
☕️ Espresso Martini
🫜 Pickled Beet Salad with Strawberries
🤍 Burrata with Marinated Grilled Artichokes
🍅 Meatballs with Whipped Ricotta and Hot Honey
🍝 Nettle Fusilli with Cranberry Beans, Green Garlic Crema, Manchego, Gremolata, and Calabrian Chili Sauce
🌿 Manicotti with Ricotta, Swiss Chard, Lemon Crema, and Taleggio
🐟 Roasted Trout with Salmoriglio Sauce, Turnip, Leek, and Calabrian Chili
🐖 Double Cut Pork Chop with Polenta, Green Garlic Crema, Stewed B&G Peppers, Black Garlic Emulsion
🍰 Strawberry Passionfruit Cheesecake
🍫 Chocolate Budino

🥃 Dessert Negroni

I definitely plan to visit Ulivo again, and I recommend you keep them in mind for your next Italian date night in DC. 🥂🫒✨

Ulivo is open Wednesday - Saturday, no reservations— walk-ins only! And they are open for brunch one Sunday a month. 🕒

Who’s behind brunch this Sunday and your newest favorites at Ulivo?

Meet Nick Perkins. Born and raised in Cherry Hill, Baltimore City, Nick brings his culinary perspective to DC through elevated Italian cooking rooted in craft, hospitality, and community.

He is a first time executive chef shaping a menu that reflects everything that brought him here. Nick often says:

“My time at @dutchcourageginbar always brings me back to the most intimate and personal way of cooking, where food is less about performance and more about connection.”

Leading a kitchen for him means staying close to that feeling and letting it guide every plate. His experience comes from kitchens like @petitecerisedc, @minibarbyjose, @hotelulysses ash—bar, and more, each one shaping the way he builds flavor, balance, and intention as today.

This monthly Sunday brunch is part of that story. We can’t wait to welcome you in this weekend.
