Oooooi! This reeal special episode of La Danza degli Orixás was made for @radioalhara .

I wanted to approach it differently — step outside of what I usually do, exploring textures over rhythm, introversion over heaviness through deconstructed club music, noise, ambient, grime, glitch and candomblè-related field recordings.

It challenged me, but that’s where the good stuff happens. :)))

Deep thanks + respect to Radio Alhara for the space and for what they hold and stand for.

Played at Hyperacustica last weekend — been itchin’ to spin these heavy riddims for a while. 🗡️

“La Danza degli Orixás” Ep. 01 starts today, at @shella.radio aired from @planeta.za in @ankali_club (CZ).

Collective ceremonies, made up of rituals, masks and dances, are the focus of this research, where music is the core of a moment of deep connection with nature and spiritual energy.

The title means “the dance of the semi-gods (the Orixás)” and it is inspired by the mysteries of Brasilian-Candomblé and more broadly on the concept of syncretism.

It’s really important for me to thank Ye Ye Oke for guiding me on this spiritual and musical journey. taken in Ankali by @lagos_ognr
