My dog has an excellent recall… about 95% of the time.
This morning, in the cool silence of the forest, we thought we had the place to ourselves. Unfortunately, today was part of the other 5%.
He suddenly ran toward two dogs before I could call him back. He wasn’t aggressive at all—he was wagging his tail and simply wanted to say hello and sniff them. Still, I know I was at fault, and I sincerely apologized to the other owner for not being able to recall him.
She was very upset and told me that if I couldn’t control my dog, I should have him neutered.
Her reaction was quite harsh, and although it shook me a little, it also made me stop and think.
So I’d really like to hear from you.
Is your dog neutered or intact? Has neutering changed their recall, impulse control, or interactions with other dogs? Or do you think training is the key, regardless?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing your experiences as I reflect on what happened this morning. #mydog #monchien #lagottoboy #doglife #walkintheforest by @lagottoargos

POV: It’s 35°C outside and your dog voluntarily chooses the hottest spot under the sun. ☀️🐶
