If you are travelling to Russia keep in mind…

1. YOU WILL NEED CASH 💵
You can’t use you’re travel money cards or international banking cards here. Bring some Russian rubbles.
It is easiest to convert in your home country and try have enough for your trip, if you are worried you didn’t convert enough you can also convert USD in some places there, so could be a good idea to bring extra USD too.

2. You will probably have to navigate without google maps.
Try downloading maps before you come and plan where you’re going. Some places have wifi, but a lot of apps in Russia won’t work and figuring out data roaming can be difficult.

3. You can’t use Instagram.
Many social media platforms are blocked in Russia so figuring out an alternate communication method before travelling is best. I believe iMessage still works.

4. Everything is in Russian!
Well shocker, you’re in Russia. But unlike many countries now that have signage in English, English signage is banned so it can be difficult to navigate. My advice it try be prepared and plan your journey before setting off.
