First in my family, but not the last.

To the College of Love and Charity,

Thank you for molding me into the woman I am today. All this hills i’ve walked, the lessons i’ve learned, I will eternally carry with me.

I thank CSSAH for teaching me how to create my own seat at the table. As I further my academic career leading me to become apart of the 2% of female black lawyers, I will continue to break barriers.

Coming here in the fall of 2022 as a political science scholar, I was determined to create a lasting legacy representing those who came before me and those who will come after me.

During my time at FAMU, I have accomplished:

To the Omega Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Incorporated,

Thank you. Thank you for taking a chance on a timid junior, wondering if she was good enough. I have been polished and principled in so many ways from this organization. This brotherhood runs so deep, and I am forever grateful for this bond.

To the 17 R.E.L.A.P.S.E.R.S.,

I could write a book about y’all. Thank you for accepting me for me. I could not see myself joining this organization with anyone else, and I truly would not have it any other way. All the ups and downs, wins and losses, we’ve always had eachothers’ back. The impact and happiness that you all have brought in my life is unmatched. F.I.N.A.O, 17 in, 17 OUT.

To the Leaches,

The unbreakable family. The family that stands 10 toes down every time. There was never a question if I belonged here. Bigs, thank you for pouring into me, answering immediately when I call, and always giving advice when I need it. Littles, I see so much of myself in you. Continue to shine in every room and never let anyone dim your light. I’ll always have your back.

To my Trips,

My Mykala and Lejuan. From the moment we met, I could tell our big personalities were just different versions of the same energy. This bond fits so well into my life, like a missing piece I didn’t know I needed. I truly couldn’t have asked for better siblings. Our bigs showed OUT!!!
